    just got it yesterday, the fish likely needs a couple days to relax and get used to the new tank.

    after 2 or 3 days, the filter cartridges wont be doing much chemically (as in they have absorbed all they can), that is your time to fertilize.

    ill jump in, sometimes i like to localize the ferts, but the fact is everything inside the tank is in the water column. if it is wet, its in the water column, so if you fertilize the water, everything in the water can feed from it.

    keep all your substrate, rocks decorations in a bucket of water. the good bacteria will survive overnight. get new tank, set it up, fill it, treat the water. once it gets up to room temp it should be good to go.

    the capsules are perfectly safe. they are just gel tab capsules like we use for medicine.

    adult SAE's can be challenging to catch. id suggest 2 nets. one to catch it, and one to use to chase it into the other net.

    i would bet end result will be similar between the two, but read the package of polyfil. you dont want flame retardants or other chemicals on it.

    you will always have algae, no matter what. it can be minimized, but it takes time to dial in the amount of fertilizers, and lighting. lots of algae, especially hair algaes, you generally have too much of one, or both. make an adjustment, let it go for a few weeks, and make another adjustment as needed.

    somebody in the tank finds it tasty. my bristlenose pleco's eat 'em like corn on the cob.

    most anything people consider cleanup crew will work with guppy's.

    i would say beyond the time involved(no one wants to pay for that), there are so many options for substrate, plants, ,filters ,heaters that they would sell very few as no one would like all the things they picked out.

    guppies are like a box of chocolates, you never know whats going to show up in the fry.... to get stronger colors like the male you picked, you'll probably want to breed some of the female fry back to the father. its rumored guppies like banjo music.....🙈
