    im pretty happy with my first gen ACO pump with battery backup in it, also have had good experience with tetra whisper air pumps. both quiet, and reliable. the battery backup in the pump makes the ACO pump the winner, though id not hesitate to buy another whisper if i needed one faster than i could get one shipped in.

    green water is an eyesore, but its generally not actually bad.

    my plecos wont stop, in community tank with cory's and everything else, and i move/remove anything that can work as a breeding cave, yet new tiny pleco's keep showing up.

    if its in an aquarium full of water, they can and will get nutrients from the water column. its not like its dry in the substrate of an aquarium. if its in the water, its in the substrate.

    i have never kept the lights off when introducing new fish. never seen a problem with it.

    better than the cup they come in, but no company should be selling bad ideas like that. just shows that when it comes to dollars or integrity, too many opt for dollars.

    my favorite method is assassin snails. chemical options can work really well also, but can be detrimental to other tank inhabitants.

    fish gasping at the surface will typically be the first real obvious sign you have an oxygen problem.

    growing algae on the leaves, that results in the plants leaves dying under the algae, and results in the holes. get the algae under control.

    there's only one way to find out, but id not put money on him not eating it.

    i would say, after they come out of the stores qt, id have a very good look at them. just to make sure they arent extremely weak/sickly looking still.
