Before I moved and had to start over with the hobby, I was a bit of a food collector 😅 I had:

Repashy - 4 types; bug bites; krill flakes; freeze dried mysis; frozen mysis; frozen black worms; frozen blood worms; brine shrimp; Hikari vibra bites; Hikari first bites; micro worms; vinegar eels; white worms; grindal worms; and Sera onip tabs.

So... 18 types?

I dont nearly have as many foods as @Lowells Fish Lab, but I'll get there one day.

I like to test as many foods as I can. If that food sound interesting, its coming home!

I currently have 8 foods (Northfin Krill Gold, Tetra Tropical Flakes, Northfin Betta Pellets, Hikari Betta Bio Gold, Frozen Bloodworms, Fluval Bug Bites, Flakes made by my LFS, New Life Spectrum Community Pellets)

The one in the smaller green container is my Hikari Betta Bio Gold, and the one in the bigger contanier is the New Life Spectrum Pellets.

Hugo thought it was food time, broke my heart to tell him no. So I gave him a snack.

I'm going to the LFS tomorrow, so this collection will probably be increased...

For each type of fish or all together ROFL

3 types repashy

3 tropical flakes

5 algae wafers

hikari first bites

northfin fry starter

freeze dried brine shrimp

freeze dried bloodworms

hikari fancy guppy food

2 sinking shrimp granules

shrimp baby

shrimp dinner

bacter ae

shrimp fit

shrimp mineral

snowflake shrimp food

shrimp lollipops

seaweed sheets

dr Tim Hawaii’s spirulina powder

i also make my own spirulina wafers and snail lollipops

geez 27 yup food collector typing it out it seems like a lot yet .......in my defense my longfin lemon blue eye Plecos refuse to eat 3 of the wafers. All the flake is ground up together I don’t use bacter , fit, mineral or snowflake because it makes the tank nasty or shrimp dinner NOONE will eat that and having a plethora of snails I don’t need it. 🙂

I think the more variety you feed your fish the healthy they will be as each different food I feed has some different nutrients when I keeped my Frist fish  I would only feed one type of food over the years you notice that your fish look more colorful and healthy and  are more active when fed a good variety of foods

I’ve probably got a dozen. I rotate between a few staples daily:

Krill flakes, freeze dried blood worms, freeze dried daphnia, freeze dried brine shrimp, spirulina, algae wafers, bug bites, micro, and pellets. Not counting shrimp sticks and pellets.

Some fish are picky about some of the above, but they all seem to absolutely love the freeze dried bloodworms. I really want to go for frozen bloodworms and live baby brine at some point.

I totally agree, but my fish still love good old Tetra Color. I use it to lure the greedy fast swimmers when I’m adding sinking wafers for the bottom crew. Back in the day it was 90% of what I fed.

I’ve done what Cory has talked about at times - anytime I get below half a bottle I just throw it in an old thermos soup container and put it in the freezer - right now that has the remnants of Extreme Krill, Hikari Spirulina brine shrimp, and omega beta pellets. I also have LRBs fave Tetra color tropical granules, bug bites, hikari freeze dried blood worms, Extreme sinking wafers and Repashy morning woods. I also have a pepper mill with the tetra granules and bug bites I use regularly. Shrimp food I feed shrimp king complete and snow, Sera shrimp, and bug bites shrimp along with bacter ae and shrimp rx with each water change.

Alright, I can’t resist.

Every night the community tank gets:

Extras for fun/treats:

Shrimp food:

Baby food:

  • Live baby brine shrimp
  • Hikari first bites (which my gourami never eat)
  • Vinegar eels
  • Xtreme krill flakes—haven’t had a chance to try this one for babies yet, but the platies love it!

Home-made:

  • Snello
  • Frozen baby brine
  • Frozen mosquito larvae
  • Frozen zucchini slices

Freebie that came with some fish:

  • BSD soft-moist pellets

Old food:

That’s 18 foods. I also have vitamin drops. Plus I want to get algae wafers for my otos.

Wow, that was worse than I thought. 😆
