Patrick_G
@James Black, Dahlias are great! In the spring you can plant inexpensive tubers that give incredible summer blooms. Some varieties produce blooms up to 12” across.

Guppysnail
I’m building a border around the lilies this year. Hubby is building a 3 tier stone walled garden in the front yard. Just got dirt today stone comes end of week 🙂 I’ve been growing the saddest slowest tree ever for 3 years ROFL Charlie Brown has nothing on my tree
Daniel
Just harvested the garlic for this year. Here is some of it curing. We keep it out the sun with good airflow across it for about 10 days before we braid it. 2

Daniel
How cow! You have good eyes. I wouldn't have been able to tell which variety it was without the label. Yes, it is 'Red Toch' short for Tochliavri, which is the city in the Republic of Georgia that this variety originally came from. 1

I have to keep mine in the garage over the winter or risk losing them to the arctic blasts here, but mine were done in May. That's a happy looking plant! After @Anita astonishingly IDing garlic by photo?!, I'm a bit embarrassed to ask this, but what type of Sarr is that? 2

I did when we lived up in rural 'holler' years ago. I just got my ramps patch started in the woods behind my house last year. It will be a while before it is big enough to collect from.

Streetwise
When I was researching the difference, I found all these cool ramp festivals in the southeast. Of course, I can’t remember which we have here in Vermont!
Patrick_G
@OnlyGenusCaps, I forget which variety of Sar it is. It’s grown in a nursery in Oregon is all I remember. We made all the mistakes you could think of with it, but finally unlocked it’s secrets and now we get blooms and robust pitchers every year. I’ll be adding more for sure. Patrick_G
@Guppysnail, I showed my wife and we had a good laugh. 20 years ago I was like your hubby, but she turned me to the dark side. Now it’s me sneaking in plants! I’m lucky that our local speciality grower sell at our grocery store, but my wife must wonder why a dozen eggs and a quart of milk cost $100 🤣

Trish
A terrible week for rhodos and flowers. Everything got burnt to a crisp during a 4 day heatwave. Temps up to 111F. This odd looking fuchsia I didn't write the name down. I remember the tag said it was a plant with " registered growing rights" on it, so not allowed to propagate or give away... it puts out new shoots like fleas on a dog! Photographed with a piece of letter size computer paper for a botanical look. With climate change I should seriously think about plants that are drought resistant. Patrick_G
This week wasn’t friendly to my new day Lillies but my Salvia and is growing like fireworks! It’s my fav for NW summer drought conditions. 2
Fish Folk
Because we love pizza, keep Basil growing indoors. This morning, rising early to bag fish for sale, I found something I’ve never noticed before: Basil flowers... Kind of fun to see plants flower. I’ve got so much to learn about plants...
