Back in the 1980's my wife and I worked at Sandy Mush Herb nursery and at the time I think they carried 47 different varieties of thyme. Thinking about that recently inspired my to build a rock wall and order some thyme from Sandy Mush. So far I don't have all the varieties yet, but the ones I have so far are starting to bloom:

Up in the vegetable garden over the winter we grow a dozen varieties of garlic and a little broccoli. Both are about to be harvested. Very soon we will put in our summer garden.

@Trish I’ll be on the lookout for some Salpiglossis at the local nursery. What an inelegant name for a beautiful plant! The common name is much nicer.

The creator had his/her paint brushes out that day @Patrick_G The body of the plant is a bit weedy looking but the flowers are spectacular!

What variety of garlic do you like the best @Daniel?  My raised beds need to be replaced in a few years 2x6 cedar 4'wide 10' long.  The price of lumber has tripled since Covid.. so it might be awhile.  Your bees are going to love all that thyme.  Is that mint I see on the loose out front? :classic_unsure:

Our garden is doing well. First time gardeners here. I'm just so surprised by how much work is involved, even after everything is planted.
Here's some pics from yesterday:

@Patrick_GI just realized I don't have any red oriental poppies this year.. the elk must have done them in. Your Alliums are wonderful!  Good eye for containers.. have you tried the black sweet potato vine?

@Jungle Fannice that you co-exist with nature as well!

I like mini "nano" roses for the front porch and prefer Rugosa's planted around the house. Less maintenance and spraying, my lawn ornaments don't tend to eat them as much.... the hybrid yellow rose is potted for protection.

@Trish, thanks! I use sweet potato in my containers regularly but didn’t add any this year. One of my new favorites for containers is trailing decorative Oregano.
Your roses look great. Last year I planted a bunch of our local Nootka Roses. No blooms yet but the plants look healthy.
@Jungle Fan, baby bunnies are the best! I’ve never seen any wild Rabbits on our island even though the habitat seems perfect.

Is this a Nootka Rose?  Are yours transplanted from the woods? @Patrick_G  I'll look for some decorative Oregano, thanks!

I think thats it. My neighbor got them from our extension’s native plant sale and gave me eight or nine. I’ve had some roses in the past but I’m still a complete beginner.
