  1. Both snails seem to be settling in. I was a little worried about Goldie not being very active, but I have found her in a new place every few hours/every morning, so I think she is just shy around me/more nocturnal. Blue is more outgoing and is making his way around right in front of me. (I have no idea what sex these snails actually are, just personifying them cause that's what we do 😅). Sleeping I guess? Not sleeping
  2. Java fern, anubius to attach to rocks or wood. Hornwort will grow great floating or fill up a background if anchored with weights or wedged in to rocks/branches. It hasn't done great actually planted for me. Dwarf sagittaria for a grassy carpet cryptocoryne wendtii and tropica for bronze colors in foreground ish areas I've had good luck with hydrocotyle tripartita so far, for a more delicate looking leaf. It seems to grow tall or wide as needed but I need to play with it more. I love tiger lotus as a centerpiece/ mid background plant. I also have background amazon swords that seem to be doing ok so far. Both my tanks are no co2 and moderate /old tech lighting. Good luck to you, look forward to seeing pics 😁
  3. Hard to tell without a close up. Does it look like this?
  4. Trying to show a comparison of cherry shrimp sizes as they grow up. Hard to get a pic of the smallest but I tried. Shrimplet Juveniles starting to get color Adult (I believe a berried female)
  5. As mentioned in my last post I added a bunch of shrimp from the other tank in here. And a locally scavenged oak leaf (after blanching it in scalding water)
  6. Thank you. A lot of my shrimp have moved house to my other tank, but there are still quite a few in here so we'll see how they get on. I'm hoping to add some panda corys and make a calm little community tank
  7. Maybe Danio erythromicron? I'm considering trying some
  8. May I ask why you don't want real ones? A lot of the benefits they provide come from breaking down and creating healthy microorganisms.
  9. Beautiful. May I ask where you source your native fish
  10. I like the branch coming out from the corner. I think some more tall plants/hardscape in that corner would make a nice focal point
  11. I've noticed a few of my cherry shrimp have like, translucent cheeks for lack of a better description? Is this a symptom of something bad or a natural thing. They are breeding and I've noticed it on a few with saddles showing so I'm wondering if it's related to pregnancy. I haven't had any deaths and I couldn't find any diseases that seem to fit.
  12. Excited to have just gotten these guys
  13. New snail alert. Since I managed to move my assassin to the other tank, along with most of the adult shrimp, I figured it was time for some adorable mystery snails. Currently temp acclimating. Please pardon the duck weed 😅
  14. Started from the bottom now we're here. Tiger lotus grows fast. I decided to move most of my shrimp into this tank. They seem to be thriving and using the whole tank, and I figure this odd shape is better suited to shrimp than fish. I also managed to move my assassin snail to this tank. Clearing the way for my more horizontal tank to have mystery snails and either panda corys or bristlenose pleco. Possibly endlers or something else small and temperate.
  15. I like using natural wood and stone though I find myself trying to fill every free space with plants
  16. Tank is looking pretty good. Though I do have an abundance of daphnea. I'm considering moving the majority of my shrimp to my 25 gallon half cylinder, and putting a gang of panda corydoras in this one. Since they will have a live food source and will prefer the horizontal space. And the shrimp seem to be thriving and using all of the other tank.
  17. Attempting to bring some semblance of order to the hornwort. Also loving my lotus
  18. Looks fantastic. Jealous of those reds and pinks
  19. I was thinking it looks like Hydrocotyle tripartita, but Idk if that is prone to tall growth like this
