  1. Love those little guys. I want to get some eventually
  2. I showed my house mate this and he said "we need another tank"
  3. After much deliberation, and after adding an air stone, I decided to get a rainbow goby. They are too cute. I started with just one to make sure it thrives in my tank, and to avoid possible male squabbles. Luckily they sent a female, so if I do end up getting another I won't have to worry about that. She has beautiful stripes. Sorry for the not great pics, she is settling in with the lights off. More pics in the future will be in my 29 gallon journal, but I was too excited and wanted to share this now.
  4. I would say search for minigolf turf and check out the different kinds you can get. As noted just make sure it's a fish safe material
  5. My white clouds have been doing well in my hard water.
  6. Bumping due to general lack of response. What is an acceptable low end temperature range for these guys?
  7. Those discus and rams are popping, great colors
  8. The white clouds being frisky and showing some nice colors. I also moved a couple plants around.
  9. They look beautiful. Crushed coral should help. You could also try cuttle bone
  10. Just an update, I kind of re did my hornwort corner, made another cave up there. My carpet continues slowly filling out, I added an air stone to my filter, and put in an amazon sword. Some other minor adjustments. My crypt wendtii red seems to be coming back with some nice red. Hopefully it continues getting bigger.
  11. I've never had trumpet snails so I couldn't say. From what I understand they breed a lot but mostly stay under the substrate. Assassins also dig from time to time but Idk if they're as good as trumpets at digging. Also I think trumpet snails get a little bigger. And again from what I've read but not experienced, assassins tend to go after small snails unless there are several of them to team up on a big one. So if you got one assassin, it would probably stay busy with pest snails rather than try to go for trumpets. That's just my un tested theory though, I would get more opinions before doing it.
  12. I modified my sponge filter to fit an air stone, and apparently the white clouds approve, because I think I witnessed some mating behavior. There was a fired up male with his stripe all pink showing off his dorsal to everyone, and I briefly saw what seemed to be a mating embrace among the anubius nana petite. From what I understand the eggs are tiny so Idk if they would be visible to me. Will keep a look out for fry.
  13. The red/beckford pencilfish are nice looking. I personally think the brown/diptail pencilfish are cool, but from what I understand they need tiny food that hangs in the water column for a while. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/pencilfish
  14. Modified the sponge filter in my 29g to accept an air stone. Took my house mate and some pliers but we did it. Considerably more bubbles now. In preparation for possible hill stream loaches. And the current resident don't seem to mind.
  15. Suggestions: - clown/rocket killifish, -green kubotai rasboras, -chili or phoenix rasboras, -pencilfish
  16. I've seen varying recommendations on the temperature range for bristlenose. Some say anywhere been 60 and 80F. Others say more like 74 - 86F. I've considered getting one, but I don't want it to get too cold. I have white clouds, so I don't really want the tank above 75F. My tanks current seasonal temp range is about 65-75F. If they need it hotter than mid 60s in the winter I could get an aquarium coop heater. Bristlenose keepers of the forum, what are your thoughts?
  17. Nice looking tank, I like how you filled it out with plants. I know it can be hard to work with that shape.
  18. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/pea-puffer Care guide says to scoop them up with a cup or something. I guess if you have a bunch put them in several buckets or jars or what have you of tank water.
