I think the red of both would look outstanding with a heavily green planted tank!

Welcome aboard!

Yeah he/she's cute! Got a little smiley face on its side. 🙂

I hope the shrimp propagate enough to keep the tank populated, but I'm sure the CPDs will eat some of the fry. Not specifically a breeding project though.

Welcome to the forums! We are currently trying our hand at Caridina shrimp with Celestial Pearl Danios. Its very early to tell, but I'm hoping this will be a good pairing.

Out of our 3 remaining shrimp, two of them look like this But one of them looks like this. I'm no shrimp expert, but this fella doesn't look like a Tangerine Tiger.

We did a big algae cleaning of our betta tank, and it caused a bit of a spike. We used Prime to detoxify it until it could catch up.

Welcome Gomez! I dont know much about cichlids, but I'm certain someone here can help you out!

Top Floating Plant Suggestion

Yeah we have great luck with the Salvinia (Water Spangles) too, but yeah...short roots. -
Top Floating Plant Suggestion
GameCzar replied to NewerFishPerson's topic in Plants, Algae, and Fertilizers
Red Roots are gorgeous, Amazon Frogbit also grows incredibly long roots and propagates super easy. Makes it almost look like a kelp garden. -
I think some floaters would look great. Frogbit, Water Spangles, or Red Root would look great!

Have you considered Assassin Snails?

Great tanks! Welcome to the forum!

Since we will be keeping mostly nanotanks, I decided to go ahead and grab a decently rated, inexpensive IR thermometer. The problem is that it's reading 5 degrees lower in one tank, and 4 in another. Both of these tanks have digital thermometers, but lets be honest I have no idea if those are accurate either. Should I get a cheaper mercury thermometer to try to get a true reading and see which might be accurate? I love the idea of the point and shoot, especially for acclimating new fish but now I don't know what to believe! 😉

This was the first time I ever ordered fish where extra weren't included. This is partially our fault, I have had great luck with a different supplier but they were out of stock and I never got a reply on when they'd get them back.
-
Yeah, paying another 50 bucks to ship 16 dollars with of shrimp that died at no fault of ours seems pretty unethical. It's such a small amount that I debated letting it slide as opposed to putting 2 poor shrimp through that process again, but I feel like giving a partial refund would be in order. After arguing on the phone with the guy, we're getting our 16 bucks refunded.

Fred would like to show off his air tube to you guys.
GameCzar replied to GameCzar's topic in Photos, Videos & Journals
Fred used to do that with a chunk of floating cuttlebone, and the whole time I'm singing "A Whole New World...." from Aladdin. -

Welcome!

Great looking tank, welcome!!

Clearing up nicely! Parameters have all fallen in line save the ammonia, and that's dropping every day. Roots sprouted on the bulb, so it is now turned properly.
-
Our source says they were tank raised, so we are trying to match their parameter listings as close as possible. Hopefully they'll be hearty fellas!
