  1. It’s been storming here the past few hours, definitely coolEd things off. Great”nite, nite” weather 😊
  2. I am so sorry that happened to you! I am glad that you are ok ! Things can always be replaced, but you cannot! I know that doesn’t really make you feel any better about the situation, but hopefully it won’t be very long before life settles back down into some form of normalcy. I hope your neighbor and his family are also ok!
  3. It’s nice and steamy here on the East Coast of Central Florida! What’s the weather like where you are?
  4. Lol, yup I am an official member of the Panda Cory Appreciation Society!
  5. I think I’ll eventually dabble in live foods but now, I’m just trying to get a rhythm going 😂 Thanks! I’ll try crushing it a bit more and see how it goes, if anything, the Betta will eat it!
  6. Currently, I have a 29g community tank that’s home to 16 Cardinal Tetra, 6 Panda Corydoras, 5 Nerite Snails, 6 Ghost Shrimp and soon to be Betta. I also have a 5.5g tank with 1 Betta, 1 Nerite and 3 Ghost Shrimp. I currently feed Xtreme nano as a staple food 4 days per week, 1 day I feed freeze dried Daphnia, and 1 day I feed freeze dried Bloodworms (I feed sinking wafers to Cory’s 3 times a week). I fast them on day 7. I tried feeding Hikari Vibra Bites and Fluval bug bites but only the Betta seems interested in those- they seem a bit too big for the Cardinal Tera. Is this enough variety for them?
  7. I think it looks great! I have a 29g that I’m slowly converting to planted!
  8. I am currently using Xtreme nano. I have 16 Cardinal Tetra, 6 Panda Corydoras, 5 Nerite snails and 1 (soon to be 2) Betta. All seem to love it.
  9. Hello! Welcome! You’re going to love it here!
  10. I ask because some terrestrial plants will do that (like tomato plants) if you bend the stem laterally, roots for and new shoots will appear along the main stem… creating tons more plants. But I am not that knowledgeable about aquatic plants
  11. 29g Community tank some real, some artificial plants. Spiderwood and lava rock with natural gravel substrate
  12. And this is how it starts. “Plant pushers”… they give you a few, you know, to get you hooked. The next thing you know, your browsing plant auctions looking for your next leafy fix 😂
  13. I wonder if you bend the stem over so that the roots can be in the soil , will the main plant then make new shoots along the main stem?
  14. Thanks for the info! Need a new one soon and can’t beat that price!
  15. Awe , so sorry you lost the fry! That’s gotta be frustrating! Hopefully it won’t be long until you have more!
  16. I started out trying to read the physical book… but kept either getting interrupted or was too busy to sit and read. Audiobooks are a multitaskers lifeline 😂
  17. Today was Maintenance day. Checked parameters on the 29g Community tank, the 5.5g Betta tank and the 3g Cherry Shrimp tank and water changes accordingly. I always get 'Angry Murder Fish' face from the Betta on cleaning day. He's never happy when I mess around in his tank. Then... it was also 'Big Breakfast Sunday' in my house. Sundays are when everyone is home, so homemade Buttermilk Biscuits, Scrambled Eggs and Sausage and then the rest of the day was just a relaxing day... gearing up for Monday Madness at work tomorrow😜
  18. Everything I’ve read says Serpae Tetra top out at 2 inches. I don’t have them, so I can’t give first hand advice. However, I have also read that Yo Yo Loach “can” reach 10 inches in size but more commonly 6 inches and should be kept in groups of at least 3. If that’s the case. You are maxed out on stocking the tank as is. But again, I don’t have them do I cannot give you first hand knowledge.
  19. I just purchased this heater to replace a Top Fin 100 watt heater that came with my tank kit. It was/is a glass heater but already there is condensation inside the glass tube and so rather than sit here obsessing over it, I just ordered the ACO heater!
  20. Just a thought, cuz I really don’t know, but couldn’t we glue a magnet onto the suction cup and then use it that way? Like the way we glue hardscape and epiphytes?
  21. What a cute little murder bean! I dream of one day having a Pea Puffer tank… but that’s in the distant future!
  22. I know! But.. I’m gonna try really, really hard (ok, maybe not that hard) to be patient and edit to see what happens with the plants I already purchased!
