  1. I put an easy green root tab under it 2 or 3 days ago. So I’m sure it’ll be getting quite the growth spurt soon 😂
  2. Those super bright ones (and they are more bright pink than red, they just don’t show on camera) I sort of inherited with the two 10 gallon tanks I purchased from Facebook Marketplace so they were never in any of my tanks, I think the seller may have had a glo tank before. A lot of the green / realistic looking plants were in my 29g to fill in space until I could purchase live plants. I’ll reuse them in other tanks as “placeholders” for live plants 😂
  3. Today, I pulled the remaining “fake” plants out of my tank. Looks a bit bare now, but I’m confident it will fill in nicely with the Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus and Water Sprite.
  4. The only issue I have with Aqadvisor is that it doesn’t take into account for non planted / planted / heavily planted tanks. I wish it did, because I know that I could probably add a couple more fish to my set up if I had a lot more plants, but just how many fish, I don’t know
  5. I have Anubias and Java fern in my Top fin 5.5g betta tank. They are doing well with just the light that came with the kit.
  6. I’m pretty sure I’ll keep most, If not all of them as I’m certain there will be a few more tanks in my future. My husband, who wasn’t a huge fan of my fishkeeping hobby in the beginning (but being a good man, indulged my zeal) has started to come around and expressed an interest in having his own tank (tho he likes the glofish aesthetic) so, the neon plants will definitely be going in his new tank in his man cave.
  7. People really be out here right now mowing their lawns. Meanwhile, I’m cranking the a/c and contemplating a nap
  8. So, I pulled all the plastic / silk plants from all 3 of my tanks to replace with live and my husband now believes I need an intervention for my plastic plant addiction 😂. Wait until he finds out about my new LIVE plant addiction!
  9. The Ghost Shrimp! They live catching stuff mid-air! The Betta would be the referee, the tetras would totally be the spectators. Nerites just came for the beer 😂
  10. Good to know! I was worried that if I didn’t get it more anchored, the Panda Corydoras would send it rolling across the substrate 😂
  11. Not sure what happening with reply... BUT, I was trying to say.... My tank will probably always be a work on progress. I love your driftwood, it looks awesome in your tank!
  12. I believe you just have to make very certain that you’ve covered every tiny crack and crevice to make sure nothing can leech into the water column
  13. So, I removed the remaining silk / plastic plants from the tank and moved a few things around and it looks….. so bare! Lol. I know both the Pogostemon Stellatus Octopus and the Water Sprite will propagate quickly, but…. Still. Patience, I must have patience. But it’s so DIFFICULT!
  14. If it were me, it would depend. If they are being added to a tank that has nothing else in it - no other animals, then I might go ahead. But, if there were already others in the established tank, I would quarantine. But I’m always super cautious.
  15. Yuck! That’s ridiculously hot! Currently 7:50 a.m in Palm Coast / St. Augustine and a nice 77 F. Sitting on my back patio with my coffee, contemplating tank maintenance today.
  16. So I have seen where others have used a product called Plasti Dip to seal items to make them safe for an Aquarium. Might be something to look into if you’re really wanting to add it to your tank but are unsure of what it’s made of.
  17. Sadly, there isn't a mom & pop LFS in my area... we have the 3P's (Petco, PetSmart and Pet Supermarket)... that's what I go to choose from if I want to take it home that day. I wish there was a LFS close by.
  18. Had to “nestle” it down into the substrate a little better because the roots were showing
  19. Ok, Thank you, I'll not panic then, lol. I'll keep an eye on the rhizome - it looks fine for the moment
  20. Help! I seem to have an issue with my Anubias Barteri that I added on July 14th and I noticed these holes this morning and I’m not sure why. Ammonia 0ppm Nitrites 0ppm Nitrates 20 ppm (but I dose easy green once weekly) could this be normal melting. Too much light ? ( my lights run from 7am - 7pm - standard Top Fin kit Light) how do I fix it?
  21. Got a couple of those in this same tank and it’s already making babies
  22. Thank you! I’m so excited to start propagating some plants now!
  23. Thanks! Live plants are new to me, so the fact that this one is growing so fast amazes me!
