It’s kind of silly how frustrating it gets to always be ORD, but you all are cracking me up with your PREGGO guppies and squeaky kittens!

@Hobbit Your squeaky kitten reminds me of a cat I had years ago.  She would open her mouth to meow, hold it open like she thought she was saying something, then let out a little tiny *mew* at the end that was almost like the “bird chirp” sound cats will make at birds.  That cat was my very first “foster failure” that came to my house VERY PREGGO and waited for me to come home to deliver only 2 days after being in my house.  Of course she wasn’t going anywhere else after that.

After continually “failing” at fostering and ending up always living with a houseful of cats, they have to practically force themselves on me before I take them in now.  Funny how I still have 4 cats, 4 dogs, 2 birds, and 24 fish tanks and they are quite enough, thank you.  😆 😂 🤣

The other 3 coop powerhead are in. BIG WIN!  Everyone loves them. The extra long cord was WOW AWESOME 🤩
I used two different prefilters on to get different flow. The finer one slowed it slightly for the CPD but not too much. Guppies CPD Panda Pygmy Mom n Dad ALL are enjoying playing in it. You would think I dumped caffeine in the tanks.
Here is how I modified the coop nano prefilter for the guppies CPD and Pygmy to reduce flow just a touch further.  There is a nub of sponge inside I cut out then zip tied it on. Parakeet cat helped 🤣. Sorry about the noise n the video. All my water lines are a lowered for this and vac so it sounds like Niagara Falls. Lots of sloping water and tons of floating debris 😝 there is a spot under the outflow in the corner that even with a sponge sitting collects massive debris.  This is eliminating it 😁 Guppies and CPD keep dive bombing the flow and playing in it so much fun  it also helped keep food from dropping straight down  it blows it back up into the water  548059F6-F0CD-4256-990E-667D888E6CE9.jpeg.709e85fbcd371d22825309f991c187db.jpeg7BADA972-7E9E-4164-93DD-221B16E73E17.jpeg.b0d10de5c8cd93b7532cd921dbdbdf70.jpeg660997A4-6DAE-452D-9A5D-C94048B0A497.jpeg.30f24e8d64260d7f159eef4b0af2e33c.jpegF8F49D44-D387-4C94-A6EB-355927822BF6.jpeg.1913a0b9be37b2f4d83a6d6d37a944fe.jpeg0A8A9AEC-FAE3-46FE-9772-5C4B2473396B.jpeg.25e3b119d39d542cca1db47fbe2af04f.jpegB868746A-F306-4965-8E15-380A295A6526.jpeg.537d5338e65802879eede4708fe79ab2.jpeg51BC3011-DA2B-4422-8FA6-FA4C6D302B8D.jpeg.3e6a7195194a603428c3b091a8d4e465.jpegBC4BC308-01AA-40DB-AC44-2A107C7278FE.jpeg.18fcd98136222bce91b04806cef10918.jpeg

I so love reading this journal! 😍

The ACO powerheads are great! My CPDs love current, and the tank has a pretty high flow out of the canister filter. I tried to put a powerhead in but it takes too much room. 🙄

Your tanks are looking very nice! Happy tanks! 😃

The pandas are relatively active usually. Today since I put in tho coop powerhead they have not stopped and are still going. They did come sit upfront at dinner time but other than that they have been high octane. It’s wonderful. (Sorry for the weird night glare. Mom has been flaring and swimming happily all day as well. All the plecos are loving it and even more active than usual. 853FF591-D69C-40F8-92D5-4E0D234232F2.jpeg.6d7ebc6212029011cb9ba33b333b10a6.jpeg

So fun!! I unplug my powerhead every night at fish dinner time. It’s how the fish know it’s time to eat, and it also keeps the food from getting blown around the tank. When I had shrimp, they would get particularly active in the low flow.

I’ve found that if I leave the powerhead off for a few days, when I do plug it back in the fish get so excited. So if your fish look like they’re getting a bit bored of the flow, try giving them 24 or 48 hours of low flow to reignite their excitement. 😊

ORD enjoyable as always @Guppysnail. Mmm 🐼 fun for everyone!

I’ve run the power head on a Kasa timer in the past. 7 am to 10-midnight to let them rest a bit. With 2 eheims I’ll now redeploy the powerheads to the corys and the pleco mansion’s.

I plugged the Tetra Reptifilter into the timer along with the shop lights, and now extra filtration happens when needed, and the pump (and the endlers) get a little break while Karma sleeps.

I'm hoping this plus the super course sponge protecting the pump will help the Reptifilter last longer.

That’s great advice. At dinner I do turn turn the Pygmy one off. I have them flowing along the back bottom so they have a low flow front section. My bratty 🐷 are front and center waiting for food 🤣

I thought about this but I forget to plug things back in consistly and timers I’m never good with. So I set it up as far in the back and low to the ground as I could. So its sections of high and low flow with decor to break it further so the front is more. tranquil. I have a canister a hob and 2 sponges in all the tanks but all my fliw is across the surface for oxygenation. These really made a difference. Added bonus they keep gunk off my substrate in the back where it collects the most.

@Guppysnail I was chuckling at you finding your guppy fry in the slipstream, then the first big momma came by!  Cracked me UP!  Then the next, then the next!  What a bunch of nosey Nancy’s!  😂 🤣

Adorable finding the fry in the current but I’m not actually that surprised.  Most torpedo shaped fish like a little current, some like a lot of current.  That’s one of the reasons a still like some HOB’s, even on little, lightly stocked, over filtered 10G tanks.

My spouse and I had the same reaction!!!🤩🤩🤣🤣🤩🤣🤩🤩

I'm ORD😏 no surprise there, lol.

My spouse is now asking for updates on Guppysnail's tanks, as they are goofy, uplifting, and just enough drama to qualify as a Mexican novella, but not get confused with the depression and violence of US soap operas, lol.

That first guppy momma's face, though🤣🤣🤣

@xXInkedPhoenixX I now feel terrible about Angel having no girlfriend. He spent all morning grooming his cave. Then spent about an hour showing off his egg fanning technique to attract the nonexistent girls🥲. He has been chasing the guppies 🐷 out of the food dish, tonight he chased them from repashy and that entire area. I’m glad I moved the pandas.

@Torrey and @Beardedbillygoat1975 guess what I found on my scrap for scape treasure hunt…PENNYWORT ❤️ A piece escaped my frustrated temper tantrum of binning 😍F530752A-59D4-4890-9268-927AF2D47CB3.jpeg.9444bedc43b74de1781a3ffb3843e367.jpeg

Here is where I’m going to document my scraps for scape. No reveals only ingredient list and individual ingredients updates. No visible tank/non tank no big views only individual things. My themes are entirely Unwanted, Unused, Unneeded items only. Have a basic idea in mind for each but I will only use what I find to make it happen. The pennywort will be THE CENTERPIECE as an apology to it for binning the rest. 😉I will not take plant cuttings or whole plants only floaters or things trimmed off destined to be binned or unneeded baby plants. This is crazy fun. I spent all afternoon on a hidden treasure hunt 🤣. I feel like a kid 😁

this was in the water. No typical grey look but some empties so uncertain if any hatched if they did they go in one of the scapes 554179B4-68FD-4B67-A883-4E502F4CE9C9.jpeg.6353b927b6f1c94b196a11073588ee3e.jpegF35A3B54-4C74-49DA-8AA0-BF6A05B581BB.jpeg.f335b3e7b5e78b74e2f2fa96f4c58116.jpeg
