    My first snail eggs ever soo must be feeding enough. Snails climbing each other which may have led to the eggs. Lol No pic but I’m feeding some lettuce that’s a bit strong for me they seem to like.

    It’s nice to see fish rush over for repashy. I’ve read some are more picky but I’ve had luck with cichlids, tetras and guppies.

    Good point on freezing, it wasn’t coming out for me and I froze it to keep it fresh longer. I did notice it came out easy after. (I’ve only made it once but I did make a gelatin homemade version years ago)

    Thanks for the input. I have microworms going now so I’ll use those. I have Walter worms but they are taking off slowly.

    Vinegar eels last a long time in the water so it’s what I plan to feed my super reds when they start breeding and repashy. It’s worth a try.

    They come in water wet and fertilized from the parent fish.

    my 2 cents. I have plans to bring my guppy fry to my fall fish auction. Having a plan is important since only one of mine had fry so far and i have 10 fry. The other female is bigger so...haha. Backup tubs in case my tanks are overwhelmed.

    my guppies have been eating it when my filter pushes them under water they dart in eating part or all. A reason to avoid is if selling at an auction say many won't bid on your lot if they see any duckweed. i'm not as fastidious knowing i can get after it if needed. Maybe you could blend some duckweed up and add to Repashy if you make that. If you don't have it maybe try water lettuce or search for the large leaf duckweed which is a large morph of it. maybe avoid it if you can find other things that are easily weeded out when they overproduce themselves.

    Both should have their color and the female should have eggs. Years ago i raised them and even though the female is pale there is a silvery sheen that's clear when healthy which i'm sure you've seen. at least a week but i've read 10 days between spawnings to condition. I'd suggest if you see the female is full of eggs and you are keeping an eye on them earlier might be possible. it depends on the food, temps and possibly the time of year. This is an interesting little fish!

    One of my dragon guppy females, one of the most colorful famales i've had. Surpise guppy babies! The plants seemed to help the babies hide. i ordered a breeder that separates the fry i'll use if the fry numbers seem too low. There are many more hiding in the plants. I'm thinking i'll summer tub with these. Still a bit early but getting closer. I'll try to get good pictures as the fry color up and separating once i can tell them apart is the plan.

    I ordered some Rice fish eggs too, I hope all is well with yours. Any tips on feeding them? I'm curious, how did/are you hatching the eggs?

    What are your plans to feed them if I may ask? I’m interested as I plan to raise up fry but I have little experience besides piling in the plants! I just started up my microworm colony again trying out vinegar eels too.

    Good luck with the breeding. I did it years ago with two corners of Java moss and they bred in the tank. Mine after a year would eat micro worm sized flake rarely but almost exclusively live foods. I branched off into small cichlids when I couldn’t find any female scarlet badis. if the female is getting chased I’d suggest separating them since I lost a female but maybe you have enough hiding spaces in the main tank.

    Adding on I have dragon blood cichlids now, and Congo cichlids. I have a crushed oyster shell substrate and adding in sand that I recently just got in. I wanted to have the right one, I found filtered pool sand that cleaned up rather quickly. The Congo cichlid is called Pseudocrenliabrus Pyrrhocaudalis. 3” adult size and mouth brooders. I’m going to work on keeping the water parameters stable, they are tank raised and between 6.8-7.4 I was told. (7.2) I’ll check periodically if the shells need to be replenished since my water is a bit lower ph. I’ve seen a few spellings for it but it seems to hold true that they mainly get along I’ll just need more line of site breaks. They do well with plants like the apistogramma except maybe some digging.

    Welcome! I find I have to portion out how many tanks I want based on how much time I have to check on them and water changes. Otherwise I’d have more than 4. I used to have 2 last year sooo…haha. (5 but that’s a quarantine)

    Even if you’re certain a mating happened it depends on the snails. Just aim to keep water parameters ok, feed them and wait. Once they want to they’ll start laying even on a tank lid if they don’t have room.

    So, I realized years ago i must have been over and then underfeeding my plecos. My new favorite is Bristlenose Pleco (Super red and L144a Blue Eye Lemon). I now add in food daily and remove any scraps by hand or suctioning if they crumble. my first thought was to make them but i haven't done it before so i was unsure how to go about making a pleco cave. I think tomorrow i'll try with two dry coconut shells i have had for a while to make something. Anyway i'm going to blanch some veggies to add into the feeding schedule with the algae wafers. It surprises me how active they are. any tips on making pleco caves if anyone has done it before. is pvc a viable cave option?

    It's looking good, i plan to do something similar. it's so nice how it looks like it blends into your yard with landscaping all around. I look forward to the plants growing in and any fish. Do you have the fish in a tank or buying them when it's settled? just curious. 🙂

    i've been feeding a pleco pellet daily and green beans sometimes. I'll work on zucchini, it's cheaper in stores i just forgot the last trip. It seems keeping to a rigorous feeding regimen yet taking out the leftovers for cleanliness has led my snails to being much more active. I think they were grooming through all my mosses when i fed less often but i can see them more now on the glass.

    Around me female guppies were rare over the winter so I ordered a trio and right after I found a tank of females nearby me! Haha. The dark gravid spot gets bigger on the females and on some clear ones you can see the eyes when they become kind of box shaped on the bottom. Their bellies square up right before they give birth.

    When small I’ve read they ship better. I’d recommend either shipping to people you know or opt for the insurance for a few dollars. It’s sometimes included with tracking but it can clear up problems if you start shipping often. At least a tracking number to know it reached the destination. I’m planning on bringing my summer tub fish extras, if any, to a fish club auction near me. Best of luck and I like seeing your journey with the Angels.

    Seems good, I was thinking of moving fish around a bit and this would give me an extra tank to raise fry too. I had been quarantining fish from seperate places. Years ago with a tank full of java moss i was getting fry all the time but i wasn't as good at feeding them. Good luck with whichever way you go.
