  1. I use a blue lab pH meter that accurate to 0.1 has worked well for me I would avoid cheap pH meters of Amazon they don't last very long and give inaccurate reading's
  2. I have that book lots of great pictures of fish in there natural habitat
  3. It looks like the start of hole in the head the spot's are to big for it to be ich most effective treatment is seachems metroplex in food and I would add a Small amount of aquarium salt 1 table for 5 gallons at that level it shouldn't harm your plants feeding a small amount twice a day for up to 3 weeks
  4. I have kept ramshorn snail for years in my experience they only eat decaying plant matter and not healthy growth cutting back on the amount of food is the best option
  5. Chances of recovery are small if it spinal damage If you think she suffering I would euthanize her with clove oil he is some information

    Fungal infection

Have you got a picture of the fish it will help with a diagnosis also it doesn't mention water changes but I would do the 25% daily water changes and redose the medication
  9. I just saw tiger Otto's didn't notice the orange in the title just look them up the color are amazing
  10. @xXInkedPhoenixXkeeps both of these should have lots of useful information for you on their behavior
  11. That looks more like Epistylis that feed's off the gram negative bacteria on your fish and spreads more quickly at higher temperatures the most effective treatment is kanaplex in food and ick x to treat the tank you can add kanaplex to repashy for your Otto's the medication isn't very heat resistant so add the medication Once the repashy start to thicken a bit @Zach K
  12. Water changes are the best thing at this point 50% daily water changes and add a double dose of Fritz complete or prime to help detoxify any ammonia and nitrite till it constantly stays at zero
  13. It doesn't look to bad what I would do is add some Indian almond leaves to the quarantine tank as they have antibacterial and antifungal properties and small amount of aquarium salt 1 table for 5 gallon should help speed up the healing process if it start to get worse than I would treat with maracyn
  14. If it has a fuzzy appearance it's more than likely a fungal infection
  15. What you can do is use ick x to treat the tank and paracleanse in food with wasting disease I would recommend treating with levamisole or flubendazole Fritz Expel p active ingredient is levamisole I would treat with that in food
  16. It looks like a prolapse and some internal hemorrhaging or an internal bacteria infection it could had problems giving birth I would treat with Epsom salt baths 1 table for 2 gallons for no more than 15 minutes for a couple of days as Epsom salt acts a muscle relaxant to help your fish reabsorb the prolapse hemorrhaging or possible bacteria infection I would do a course of kanaplex in food if she's still eating
  17. It looks like the start of columnaris I would start treating with kanaplex and Jungle fungus clear straight away to get on top of it before it starts spreading to your other fish @Chick-In-Of-TheSea
  18. Possible Epistylis it feed's of gram negative bacteria on the skin of your fish and spreads more quickly at higher temperatures the most effective treatment is kanaplex in food and add a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table for 3 gallons you can add kanaplex to repashy the medication isn't very heat resistant so start to add the medication once the repashy start to get a thicker consistency

    Cory sick

First I would do daily 50% water changes and add a double dose of prime to help detoxify any ammonia till it constantly stay at zero it's more than likely the ammonia that caused the skin damage your seeing with weight loss he could also have internal parasites so I would do a course of paracleanse in food if he's still eating if not dose the tank
  20. can't see anything in. Your picture to be worried about it's common for Betta's to change color as they get older I think this what's happening if he's active eating ok if he's not showing any odd behavior such as rapid breathing hanging near the surface listlessness loss of appetite then I wouldn't worry @Liquidsky
  21. If he starts to get worse then I would start to treat with antibiotic medications that treats gram negative bacteria such as maracyn2 or kanaplex
  22. Looks like columnaris it's a gram negative bacteria infection it can kill in 24hr to 7 days depending on the stain and it's highly contagious the most effective treatment is kanaplex and Jungle fungus clear fizz tab's containing nitrofurazone following this treatment plan @broodmetbeleg
  23. It looks like a bacterial infection what I would do a course of maracyn in food and 1 table spoon for 2 gallons of aquarium salt the salt will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes
  24. I don't use active carbon in any of my tanks when I did use it I didn't see any different in water quality to justify continued use
