  1. I think meyer hatchery in ohio might sell these. Never had this specific breed but have had good experience with meyers. They only sell day old chicks though, not eggs.
  2. Good idea unless the 10 gallon has fish in it, then I would be concerned about way too much flow. also the intake tube might be too long
  3. I’m having some trouble with cloudy water after I removed the sponge filter. I can’t add the sponge filter back now because I am using it in QT. This tank has an aquaclear 30 and fluval 107 right now. I did a big waterchange and here is how it looks now. I also added another sword from QT. I got a red thicklip gourami for this tank. The other fish I was considering was an A. cacatoides but I decided on the gourami because I though this tank might be too small and the apisto might be agressive.
  4. I did a big water change today and I installed a new internal filter. Here is how the tank looks now: I added an Anubias and sword from QT. The anubias at the top is a nice spot for the splash tetra to hang out. The panduro are also still doing well
  5. I visited preuss pets in Lansing michigan today. I didn’t take may pictures but they had set up this aquascape since the last time I had been… pretty cool! I only got 2 things — A little internal filter for the cube and a Red Honey Gourami. I am pretty confident this is not a Honey gourami but rather a thicklip gourami. He’s kind of beat up, he was in a tank with blue gourami and he was the last one.
  6. Yeah, sick fish might hide more too. I would give the whole tank a treatment to be safe.
  7. If it has a sunken in stomach I would guess internal parasites.
  8. As per corys new rules, we can’t talk about AquaHuna anymore because it is no longer an approved vendor. My final word is that Aqua Huna does sell whole sale to store is WA, but they don’t ship retail because its would compete with their customers (the stores). That is why you can’t purchase directly from aquahuna in WA
  9. The reason I would guess 0.25 is that usually my ammonia tests come back a dark yellow (like the chart), but a small amount of ammonia is barely greenish light yellow. How long has it been since you were confident you had ammonia?
  10. This might be true if you only have 1 purigen, but I have 3 right now and that would cost $45. Also I have lots of driftwood so they get dirty quick. I do them all at once in batches and it isn’t that much effort.
  11. With very little water movement like you say I would be concerned it would be a mosquito breeding convention. You could 1. Add more surface agitation 2. Add a few fish in the summer. A good option I was thinking of could be a paradise fish or two since they wouldn’t breed out of control. Depending on what plants you choose they might not be able to survive the winter because I assume the pond will be above ground meaning that it will be more exposed to cold. Sounds like a great project!
  12. I had no idea something as common as a dandelion or deadnettle was invasive. Do you know if these are invasive or native in the midwest?
  13. I took a video of them schooling, they school better than I expected.
