    its all a balance of light, and nutrients. always an experiment to see what works best in each tank.

    a good sinking pellet food would be much better. cory's arent big algae eaters.

    cory's can handle some salt. as they have a skin vs scales, its best not to salt super heavy, but when it comes to treating illness, killing off the illness takes priority over minor skin irritation.

    i dont know if a turnip can put anything bad into tank water, but deer sure love them purple top turnips.

    i forgot, i too have some younger tiny ember tetra's, and they love fluval bug bites.

    more than likely the large volume of food caused an ammonia spike as it started breaking down.

    ive never seen evidence of food allergies in fish, but doesnt mean it cant happen. they can for sure get bloated, and over eat.

    you will probably be around 3 months old before they will be big enough a store will want them for sale.

    in my opinion, way too much. i should add to this. if you really want to change out that much water, it would be much better to do 30% a day for 3 days. if that still doesnt get things where you want, give it a few days then do another 30%.

    sounds like an ok plan, other than the water change. stick with 20-30% water change. nothing good comes from huge water changes.

    my amano shrimp are slightly better about eating bba, but the cherry's will nibble on it some.

    i think i see the problem with this set up, its got an odd number. you cant successfully breed fish with an odd number, better get 3 more so that you have a nice even 20.

    adding outlets in the garage with a fish room in mind, id make the first one a ground fault outlet. are you adding on to an existing string of outlets, or running from the breaker box?

    just be mindful, lots of bad things can grow on an evaporation coil. i myself would be hesitant to use it in a fish tank.
