  1. it sure looks like you have a male, and female in that picture. the female being bigger. if you look along the underside of the tail, the female will be slightly rounded, and the males will be flatter appearing.
  2. assassin snails are what you seek to control other snail populations.
  3. superglue will be rock hard and perfectly safe within seconds of it getting wet. water causes it to dry almost instantly. offgassing, good question. its likely even if it does offgas much, you are using so little to anchor plants that it should not be a concern.
  4. i have a couple different hyger lights on my tanks, and am fairly happy with them. they are a good value for the dollar.
  5. they might come back. 6-8 hours of light, and fertilize. 12 hours of having the lights on is waaaaay too much.
  6. if using table salt, definately use non iodized, and if using water softener stuff dont use any stuff with added features.
  7. i would give pretty good odds of moss working with the sponge.
  8. the low suction pressure is dictated by the low volume of water from whatever faucet you have it hooked up to. its just a basic eductor, you put 1 gallon of water from the faucet thru the eductor part hooked to the sink, and it will suck out 1 gallon from the t side of it. most faucets are made to use very little water, if you look inside them they tend to have 1/8" lines from the hot and cold into the faucet itself. that means they cant move very much water volume.
  9. i would, if you havent already set up the tanks so that the cold water tolerable fish, and shrimp are in the bottom tanks. the mid 60's wont bother them in the least. most tropicals will do okay at any of those temps, but will be happier in the 70 or higher temps. for me after that, it would be the question of how many watts of electricity are you going to use. if you only have a few tanks that need heat, individual in tanks heaters might be more economical long run. if you need to heat many , than an oil filled space heater might be the way to go.
  10. faster than amazon. if you arent a prime member they sit on it for days or weeks before shipping. no such nonsense from the co-op.
  11. good quality sturdy furniture can work well to hold an aquarium. i would veer away from most pressed board type of stuff, even if it holds it, over time will sag, and become a potential problem over time.
  12. if you really want to see me dance, imagine if you will... the caddy shack gopher. just better looking!
  13. if they are all endler sized, id say around a dozen. if the guppy's are large sized, id start at 8 or so. this would be a good starting point. with lots of plants, some filtration, etc, etc the numbers could be doubled. its best to sneak up on max stocking levels though.
  14. here's the bad news, quite often large fancy guppy tails will become damaged, and split. there is not much that can be done about it. its just the nature of the beast. the good news, in your pictures i cant see any fin rot. if he had some rot you would definately want to address that.
  15. well the post office must be in turbo mode, its here. as promised, no pictures. here's what i got murphy sticker, can definately find a place for that. Aquarium co-op towel. looks good, and is a nice size for keeping handy near the tanks. medium fish net. looks neat, will definately get it put together and use it soon. bottle of fritz complete. been a life long user of stress coat, so interested to try this out, and see how it compares. and a good sized tub of extreme krill flake food. i cant tell you how many times ive had this in my cart, but never bought. will get it into the food rotation pronto 500ml bottle of easy green. not much needs to be said about this one, i have 2 of the older small bottles that are almost out, so great timing. good stuff, plants love it. would like to express my thanks to @Cory, @Zenzo, and the rest of the co-op team. you all do a great job. also to the forum members, as you all make this a nice place to hang out, and talk fish.
  16. welcome to the forum. plenty of knowledgeable people here to gather information form.
