Grace the shark was going bananas yesterday so I tried to record the video of her cruising around.  I set it to music.  NEXT TIME, maybe I'll get it in focus. LOL.

This is the panda horde, I promise there's ~30 pandas in there under the mopani.

Edit/Update:  A big thank you to @Zenzo and team ACO for the care package and the new repashy to try (Bottom Scratcher for Invertivores).  I actually think it's one that a ton of people would have success with and my fish are going bananas for it!!!  It was really good to see them this excited.  First time ever they've had something with the black soldier fly larvae in the ingredients.

Did you breed these guys @nabokovfan87?

Yep!  They were just from the big box store locally, I ended up with 3-4, now I have a bit more 😂

Yeah, for sure.  I think if they changed the label image or added other text to it, more people would purchase it.

I don't have a photo, but I love my Pandas too!  They are new to me and after spending some time in the quarantine tank, I put them (7 of them) in my "big tank" (60 gal) a few days ago. They are amazing!  They never stop moving and have completely cleaned up every morsel of food on the bottom left behind by the other fish. in the tank. I could sit and watch them all day!

hi i am thinking on getting a panda cories for my 10 gallon how many can i get

Pandas need to be in groups and there is not enough space for how active they are.
I recommend a smaller Cory.  Hastatus, Pygmy, or habrosus.

@BETTA999firstly excellent choice of fish and welcome to our group.

We all think you’d be more successful and happier with a dwarf Cory species. Pandas can get to 2” and pretty chunky so a 2 foot tank will not be able to provide them with their best home. However,  If you like the white and black pattern the hastatus would be a great choice.

We want you to be successful now and in the future. Baby panda corys are adorable and small but they get big fairly quickly.

Sooooooo I’m contrary on this.  A 10 will work if you keep up with the water changes and limit to stocking.  I community bred pandas in my wife’s 10 gal betta tank for a year or so.  It was the pandas, 5 harlequin rasboras, and one betta. the seemed happy enough, and made lots of babies.

going with the dwarf species is a better option though.  When you have a larger tank of pandas you can really see the the school cruzin’ around like a middle-school bicycle gang on summer break.  No particular destination, lots of thrust, not much vector.  At least until the see you with a camera, then they head to the hills

I had my panda horde in a 10G and their behavior was so different than normal. This was due to the number in there of course, but it was the only place I had for them at the time.  If you can swing it, try to get a 20L over a 10G any day of the week!  Either case, all the replies above all are correct on the subject.

I think this might be leaning towards male sizes.  I can check on some of mine compared to the list with regards to females and I believe it's slightly bigger.  AWESOME list.  I love things like this.

What’s more fun than a tank of pandas? TWO tanks of pandas. The two littlest ones are offspring from my original group growing up with their new young friends.

It is one of my absolute favorite things to see the little ones hanging out with the parents.  It's just added levels of wonderful on top of their already high level of adorableness.

Yes I will have some bottom scratcher on my next co op order this upcoming week for my palies. They like the grub pie and community plus as well.

Unfortunately, the founder of this little corner of the forum no longer has a single panda. Painfully I lost all of them from a plant die off - water lettuce released a bomb of nitrogen and well that was the end of my colony of 30+ pandas 🐼 😢. There is a downside to the power of floaters to pull nitro from the water, if they aren’t happy they’ll put it right back where they found it.

My orange Venezuelanus have survived and are doing well. Here’s a video - https://youtube.com/shorts/-Zmk39UNkVo?feature=share

As for my future I have an order in with TM aquatics for some duplicareus and barbatus corys. A25D1B4E-91ED-4449-85A0-AE0D4614528C.jpeg.f3cc963080c9f2c605cfd8ea02d47df3.jpeg

Anyway Cory lovers I’m hanging in there and moving on from my disaster. Hope y’all are having fun and one day I’ll get back to a tank of my beloved pandas 🐼 but for now it’s a bit too painful. The duplicareus seem a reasonable fill in for now.

So funny to find this today. When I moved to my new house , I lost all the beloved fish in my 20 gallon. ( The other tanks were fine) this included 6 panda cories who I had for almost a year. I left it up to keep the plants alive while I decided what to do. I decided to take the tank to my classroom where it was set up prepandemic. When I emptied it, I found 1 tiny baby panda. I had no idea they were breeding. Never saw eggs. Anyway, I named him Milagro. It means miracle. I put him in my rili shrimp tank. Life finds a way.

Did I post this?  Idk if I posted this. Well I'm gonna post ANYWAY lol.

I had a really good batch of panda cories this go around. I blame this thread for me getting them in the first place!  11 total. 4 standard fin. 3 long fin. 4 BOTH long AND high fin. I chose one to keep and 2 others swam in the net. They chose me so imma keep them all!!

They are a little freaked but here's the video after pulling them

They hid in the main tank for a few days as to be expected. A few days later I caught a pic of one when the lights were off.

20220823_022949.jpg.5ddf151f7ec684acc5f8e820181fbee0.jpg

Today I noticed them out with the adults during the day. Yay!
