  1. I would skip gravel vac'ing. You're pulling up fish poop which is good food for your plants. Other than that - consistent water changes are always a good thing.
  2. I know someone mentioned Repashy gel. But, you can always feed it as the powder as well.
  3. Tell us more about your tank: how long it's been set up? Fish, lights, filtration, Nitrates?
  4. Thanks y'all. Was hoping it would be a community fish with that bright orange color. Unfortunately not, and it needs a 120g 😭
  5. I saw it on the Steenfott Aquatics background loop during their stream; and I've never seen them before.
  6. The Co-Op light is affordable too. I highly recommend that one.
  7. Algae wouldn't move the second you put your hand near it, imo. All the clues make it seem like mulm. Mulm is a good thing for your aquarium. If you don't like the look of it, then gravel vac is the easiest way to remove it.
  8. Mollies have that longer, slender body like that. Mollies FTW
  9. Do you have a link for this? Sorry...thread from the dead...but looking into a store bought option. Hand grinding in a plastic container is a lot of work.
  10. A quick update on this. I went with the alternative Co-Op website recommendation of trimming it, and planting it as a 'bunch'. Added an airstone to the tank, and....poof! THRIVING
  11. It's definitely a bucket list place to visit for myself. My wife has a work conference in Seattle next year. Hoping that she can go. If that happens, I'm getting to the store someway somehow.
  12. @Ladette @Flynnster14 what part of the state are you from?
  13. This is incredible. Your vision. Your detail. This is everything a biotope should be. Well done! Very original. I've never seen a setup like this before. Be proud!
  14. @JoeQ hit the nail on the head. I couldn't have said it any better. Just give it time.
  15. It really depends on what type of filter you want to maintain. Sponge filters, HOBs, and a canister would all filter your tank efficiently. I'm a big fan of HOBs. Less maintenance than a canister, and takes up less room in the tank than a sponge filter.
  16. Welcome fellow Michigander! What part of the state are you from? I'm in West MI. Your Guppies are looking great!
  17. Welcome! I can't wait to see pics of all these tanks set up!
  18. Boooo! 🤣 Ok, thanks.
  19. On the leaf of the plant?
  20. Do you have your lights on a timer?
  21. A few options: 1. Add another airstone to your tank 2. Add the Easy Flow kit to your sponge filter if it's an Aquarium Co-Op sponge https://www.aquariumcoop.com/collections/filtration/products/easy-flow-sponge-filter-upgrade-kit 3. Add a power head - if you have an ACO sponge, you can add the ACO power head on top of your ACO sponge. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/collections/filtration/products/aquarium-co-op-power-head
  22. Yeah. All in ones are definitely not for everyone. I found out the hard way with a Biocube back in the day for a reef tank. I've never seen that GTF episode; and I would've felt the exact same as she showed everything she had to do. Yikes. Cool idea; but not for me.
  23. @Pepere I thought they didn't, but they do. Unfortunately, they're clear. I found some black suction cups somewhere else, to blend in with my black background.
  24. I'm attempting to add an air stone again. This time I purchased one of these https://www.aquariumcoop.com/collections/air-pumps/products/ziss-premium-air-valve Is it a guess and check system, as to how much air is too much? I really tried to dial it as far down as possible, while still having a tiny stream of air coming from the air stone.
