  1. Lights run from 2P - 8P 7 days / week on a timer. Lights are Hygger. Not sure how many clicks they are on, tbh. It's nowhere near the max - somewhere in the middle. I will be doing the RR sometime soon when I have the time. Thank you so much for all of these tips. I really appreciate it!
  2. I change 20% of the water every week - also cleaning out the filter, and replacing filter floss each time. I also have bio rings, the Aqua Clear sponge, and some Aquarium Co-Op sponge in the filter.
  3. 10g planted tank. Tank date of birth: 4/9/20. Eco-Complete added July 2021. Regimen: Light is on a timer daily 2P - 8P. 20% weekly water changes. Filter is cleaned out every week. Easy Green is dosed every week after water changes. Easy Root Tabs are inserted 1x per month. I had a T8 4100k florescent bulb from inception until December 2022. Switched it out for a Hygger 14W full spectrum LED. Plants: Water Sprite, Jungle Val, Banana Plant, Tiger Lotus Aponogeton Ulvaceus, Aponogeton Crispus, Java Fern, Anubias Nana Petite, Rosette Swords, Crip Parva. Banana Plant and Apongeton Crispus are about the only plants that aren't affected. Fish: 12 Chili Rasboras. I make a concerted effort to really not try to over feed. I use only small foods, live baby brine, frozen baby brine, etc BBA started last year around June/July 2022. I added some Spider wood March 2022, and a few months later is when the BBA took off. I removed the Spiderwood December 2022, and added quite a few more plants (most are included in the plant list). BBA went away when plants were added, and came back a month or two after. My tank parameters are consistently per the attached pic. I do 20% weekly water changes, clean out my AquaClear 30 every week. I don't have all the time in the world for the tank, and am starting to think I'm running into old tank syndrome. However, I'm still confused about what could be causing this. Thoughts?
  4. No airstone, no diffuser; both not needed IMO. I go: usb air pump, tubing, top of container, a little tubing under the lid, long straw provided @AllFishNoBrakes how do you get your shrimp so bright orange? And how do you keep your trey so clean? 🙂
  5. Some questions: what is your stock list? How much do you feed? Why were you interested in having this many filters (honest question)?
  6. Super stoked that a) I got these for Christmas, and b) that I finally get to read them. I've had ants in my pants waiting for Christmas in hopes of getting them, ever since Cory was beating the drum about these. These are probably my favorite gifts this year. How bout you?
  7. I took Corey's advice from one of his tips videos. I added a never clog air stone in the back of my AquaClear HOB. I haven't noticed until now, but it has created a black mark on the wall behind it. This hasn't come about until I added the airstone. Why would an airstone do this, and any tips on stopping this from happening after I paint over it? Note: I keep the lid loosely on the HOB. The pic of the HOB is just for reference
  8. I have officially seen it all. I saw this in their holiday catalog that was mailed to my house. Unreal. https://www.sharperimage.com/view/product/Desktop+Aquarium/207813?p=plist2470005&sku=207813-01&utm_source=Google&utm_medium=CPC&utm_campaign=&Keyword=&device=c&creative=&cm_mmc=CPC-_-Google-_-PMax+High+Margin+Campaign-_-NA&network=x&matchtype=&adpos=&creative=&cpgnid=18346447439&mkwid=|pkw||pcrid||pmt||pdv|c|slid||productid|207813-01|pgrid=&ptaid=&gclid=CjwKCAiAp7GcBhA0EiwA9U0mtuIc1JFlfC6etwn7afGpzdk9_Re_JklRiQzYu9UoH5O2_PqsVtfV5RoCqUUQAvD_BwE

  10. I would suggest to keep it; if you have the room for storage. You never know if the itch will come back. Having tank supplies on hand, when you are attempting a comeback - it honestly makes it more enjoyable when you find "oh yeah...I still have a tank, and I have a filter....all I need now is a heater, and a light..." Seriously.
  11. I have over 20 Chilis in my 10g. I run an AquaClear 30; with the tube pushed off to the side for gentler flow. They're thriving and coloring up. I'm going to be getting some more soon for my tank. Get yourself a Ziss Brine Shrimp Hatchery. I hatch live baby brine once every 3-4 months. Freeze the rest, and have lots of frozen brine for them for many months.
  12. What part of the world do you live?
  13. Just as a general rule of thumb, like others have mentioned: always put your most fragile / skiddish / timid fish in first. If you have other fish you're planning on that are more dominant. Always, always, always put them in last. They won't have the ability to 'set up shop', and determine their battlegrounds if other fish are in before them. Or, even if you don't have dominant fish...maybe just 'dither fish', and some more fragile fish. For example: a Discus tank. You would want to put the Discus in first, let them get used to feeding / the surroundings of the tank...and then once they're settled...go with the faster dither fish. Hope that helps.
  14. @Patrick_GI wish there was a shocked reaction emoji. Excuse me...3 FOOOT?! Wow.
  15. Can we talk about this plant? Ok, we're going to talk about it.🤪 This plant is awesome...and will provide cover, if you're not interested in typical floaters. I tried this plant on a whim...and am in love with it! A great corner plant to boot!
  16. @Patrick_G no doubt. Cory also mentioned on Sunday how he doesn't understand why more companies don't focus on superior customer service. I've been thinking about this, and have come to the conclusion of: because enough customers don't care enough about it. If they did, they would shop somewhere else....and these places would realize they need to prioritize customer service more. These stores continue to rake in profits; so why change? That's such a cop out...but I think you can get my point. Especially with big chain places. Customers obviously show that they care more about the convenience of places like this close to their homes more than dealing with customer service. They would rather just drive close again to the store to buy new again. That's what I'm sticking with. I can't come up with a more logical reason.
  17. Cory always preaches this; but he spoke about it in depth on Sunday during his live stream. I recently purchased some shoes on Nike's website earlier this week. Afterwards, I told my wife, and she was like "why didn't you tell me? I could've gotten you free shipping, and they have 20% off right now - I have the app!" Of course, I was supposed to read her mind that she has the app....lol. Anyways, I called Nike, and informed them of this. No questions asked - they refunded the difference to my credit card. THAT'S what I'm talking about...and that's how you get returning customers.
  18. Welcome! I'm so happy to see that you're leak testing. Not many people do that. You're on the right track! I know you mentioned that you would buy Co-Op stuff when the time came; but I would recommend some Easy Planters from the site. They're great for Goldfish, so that they can't dig up your plants! Love the new 90G! And a painted background to boot!!! Just be careful with water getting on the carpet, as it'll soak it up quickly. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/products/easy-planter
  19. I have tried Blue Velvet (Neocaridina) quite a while ago. Maybe my tank wasn't mature enough. I also tried Amano Shrimp last summer. Both kinds didn't last more than a month. I took your advice, and will be getting some more shrimp - Golden Back Yellows (Neocaridina). I'll see how it goes....it is another year later, and my tank has matured even more. Fingers crossed. When you say specialty shrimp - what are you referring to? Thanks for the advice about lowering GH / KH. I only do 1x weekly water changes. @AllFishNoBrakes @AnimalNerd98 I have also added a good amount more of plants since last summer when I tried shrimp last time (Amano). Fingers crossed, and hopefully this all helps. I have always thought that shrimp shouldn't be too difficult, as I see lots of people having them. Is it Caridinas that are more difficult? Thanks again.
  20. I have a 10g planted tank, with only Chili Rasboras, and I want to add some Neocaridina shrimp; for some more color. Tank has been running for 2.5 years. Here are my water parameters: GH: 10 KH: 6 Chlorine: 0 PH: 7.2-7.6 Nitrate: 10 Nitrite: 0 Ammonia: 0 I want to lower my GH & KH, so that I can have shrimp. What would you recommend?
  21. 1.) Favourite fish? Fresh: Discus / Salt: Clownfish2.) Least favourite fish? African Cichlids and monster fish3.) Favourite fish YouTuber? Cory4.) Favourite non-fish YouTuber? I honestly don't watch any YouTubers other than fish related. I'll look up old funny YT videos occasionally; but that's the minority.5.) Favourite food? Lobster6.) What fish would you like to be the most? I honestly don't know. Maybe a Molly? Since they can adjust to brackish, salt, and fresh...?7.) What was your scariest moment? Flying on a plane a couple of days after 9/11.8.) What country do you want to visit the most? Australia9.) Cats or dogs? Fish? I have a dog - and I do like her. She's great. She really is. But man...dogs are A TON of work. 10) Describe yourself in 3 words. Laid-back, happy, optimistic 11) Pancakes or Waffles? Waffles by a landslide 12) What is your favorite song? Billie Jean 13) What do you dislike most about the aquarium hobby, and why? That a lot of people don't consider fish as pets, and fishbowls still being sold in stores. 14) What is your favorite TV show? It's a tie: Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nathan For You 15) What is your greatest fear? That the seams will burst on my tank, and explode - like it did with Cory's tank with Hank. 16) What is or was your favorite subject in school, and why? Relationship management. It applies to every day life; not just in careers. 17) Do you keep live aquarium plants? If so, what types? Yes. Anubias, Crypts, Bacopa, Banana Plant, Pennywort, Aponogeton Crispus, Aponogeton Ulvaceus, Amazon Sword Compacta, Java Fern 18) Do you love or hate pest snails? They're part of the ecosystem. I don't understand the dislike for them. 19) Do you enjoy gardening? Nope 20) What do you love most about the aquarium hobby? Three things: learning about it, all the planning that's involved with setting up a new tank, and when your tank is 'humming'...aka - it just looks great, it's got seasoned tank time...fish and plants are healthy, there's nothing to tweak....when your tank has found it's mojo....you just KNOW...a really great feeling. I have this going on with my tank right now. 21) What was the biggest mistake you've made so far in the hobby, and what has it taught you? Trying different tank situations without spending the time researching before I did it - and just throwing money at it, and expecting it to work. It taught me that you can't just do something you think is right, before researching the pros and cons first. 22) Burgers or Pizza? Pizza. I enjoy them more, and it's much easier to grab a pizza and bring it home to eat. Not as easy with burgers. Burgers also don't taste as good heated up in the microwave for leftovers. I really can't find anything wrong with pizza. 23) What is your favorite aquatic animal? Whales. I've been whale watching a couple of times. The thrill when a whale jumps is like nothing else I've ever experienced. Seeing a Blue Whale in person someday is at the top of my bucket list. 24) What is your dream tank or something you want to accomplish in this hobby? A non-livebearer community planted tank between 150 - 200g. Just a boatload of all kinds of smallish - medium sized community fish. Tons of movement, and tons of color. Tetras, Hatchets, Rainbows, Rasboras, Cories, Danios, Barbs. 25) Favorite candy? It's a tie: Twizzlers Creamsicle, Mambas, White Chocolate Kit-Kat 26) What is your favorite book? Freakonomics 27) What other things do you do for fun outside of the hobby? I've got two kids. I honestly don't have much time outside of the hobby, and working. Any extra time I have, I'm either watching Fish-tubers, or playing Pinochle online.
  22. Dwarf Aquarium Lilly. It provides some good accent color amongst all of the other green plants.
  23. I second this. Definitely the best thing they sell. It has taken my feeding to a new level.
