  1. Some type of flat worm, but I don't think it's planaria. This is planaria
  2. Literally, the first link that popped up when I googled "Spot dosing liquid carbon". https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/liquid-co2/ Infinitely better than I would ever type out, and encourages people to do their own research.
  3. I leave it to people to do their own research.
  4. Just spot dose with a liquid carbon. It will be gone in a few days.
  5. Apology: It's 10ml per gallon for 10 minutes. Then rinse.
  6. Probably biofilm or fungus. I wouldn't worry about it. Do you have shrimp or snails in the tank?
  7. FYI, Paraguard is ineffective against flukes.
  8. Ludwigia Repens gets nice and tall, Hygrophila Polysperma is nice too. Grows very fast, can be planted or placed. Nitrate hog. Polysperma is a beautiful plant. It's indestructible too.
  9. I do 3ml hydrogen peroxide in 1 gallon of water for 10 minutes. However, if I remember correctly, mosses might not like that so much. User discretion advised.
  10. As long as ammonia is 2ppm or lower, do nothing. If it goes above 2ppm, water change to 2ppm. When nitrites show up, maintain 2ppm or lower ammonia until nitrites hit 0. If then, ammonia and nitrite are zero, big water change to bring nitrate below 40...add fish.
  11. This! My Harlequin/ Ember mix is very lively. Embers were very shy before, now they "run" the tank.
  12. Comes down to the functions then. Want to adjust the light, Fluval has a cool app. The Beams is probably on off only.
  13. Do you think you will never get plants? Then the beams would be fine. But if you ever get curious about plants... Beamswork does sell a good plant light for cheap. FYI
  14. Remove any leaves that would be under the substrate and jam the stem down in. Root growth above the substrate is normal. You can cut more stem off if you want them lower to the substrate.
  15. Peat would be fine. I would definitely treat for a bacterial infection. Maracyn should work.
  16. Much clearer this morning. I wonder if I will need to recycle. My filters were off for about 5 hours. I did keep some Seachem Matrix running on my 40. I would imagine that would help rebuild what was lost. Thoughts?
  17. Yeah, I wanted to try full Eco Complete in this tank. Ordered some "challenging plants" and I'm going to keep my stocking much lower. 60 fish was too much.
  18. I changed the substrate and sold all my tetra. Basically, a redo!
