  1. They are red sailfin aka Corydoras venezuelanus They are pretty similar, planet catfish lists them as a little bigger:2.2” https://www.planetcatfish.com/common/species.php?species_id=716
  2. @Barbvdaywhat kind of plant is that in the top right of the picture?
  3. That’s a good one! somewhat different thread: There are others, but I’m not finding them
  4. I would want to see them leak checked. 3/4 full could just be whatever, or a leak near the top. im guessing the acrylic can scratch easily, at least compared to glass. I’d inspect for deep scratches. Do you know how to buff out an acrylic tank?
  5. @Chick-In-Of-TheSea he lost a lot of his color over the years. It’s supposed to be a festive frog planter.
  6. I’m no expert. But I thought the ranchus were the ones lacking a dorsal fin https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ranchu And to prove I have no idea what I’m talking about https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lionhead_(goldfish)
  7. Are you sure that’s a lionhead? Looks like a ranchu to me…. sure is cute though
  8. ^^^^. And check water parameters daily for at least a week. Change water as needed.
  9. For bottom dwellers I like the suggestions provided so far, but will add any or the other carpeting plants like micro sword or dwarf hair grass, etc.
  10. Hank and Lucy have spawned several times since my last post. Still haven't managed to raise any angels but seem to enjoy trying. Well, they are getting ready again. but I made an interesting observation. Ricky, who currently resides in the tank next door, thinks he has a shot too. Hes all colored up, and ready to spawn. Has anyone else seen this?
  11. This the second full summer with this tub. Last year I bred mollys in it, but at the end of the season I put 2 fantail goldfish in it. Figured they could over winter in the tub, grow a little bit, and I could sell them in the spring. Not so much. My wife really likes the goldfish, so i added a few more, plus some white clouds. I also learned that if you bend the stems of you Papyrus plants, the little poofy part will propagate. Gotta love free plants. the tub attracts all sorts of living things. I feel like I've over-shared these pictures, If so, sorry.
  12. I cannot spell. in grade school i was that kid. always in trouble, bad grades. it was back in the days before the understood dyslexia, and they called me hyperactive. In 8th grade they hauled my parents into the school and told them i was dumb as a bag of hammers. Get this boy ready for trade school, 'cause he ain't college material. Naturally, I went to college, graduated, joined the Air Force, and eventually earned a master's degree in Logistics Management. They even inducted me into Sigma Iota Epsilon. Can't spell, I keep proving them wrong.......
  13. I have not used it, but honestly, I wouldn't go that direction. You will end up losing real estate in your tank, and it really does not have that much media. For the money i would think about the Tidal 55 or 75. It has lots of room for media and runs around $65. I use one on my 38-gallon tank really works well.
  14. Me too. and it was such a long time ago.... but well explained.
  15. @Fish Folk explained in another thread. Bubba has the recessive genetic trait. Some offspring has the trait. breading back to the daddy results in a few albino plecos. Now I'm very curious to see if they would breed true. If i only had the room
  16. You see, this is one of the reasons I like having you on the forum. Great explanation
  17. Bubba and my large female Pleco argued over this cave the other day, He'd chase her into the cave, but she would sneak out. Bubba hangs out in this cave a lot nowadays. but there are a lot of Baby plecos in the tank😀 Now if i can onlu find out where the Albino comes from. Ive never owned one, and the female is from one of my previous spawns. very curious
  18. Finally got a good picture of Duce's eyes. Definitely albino
  19. @tolstoy21 what are the pros and cons for feeding earthworms to fish? would they make a good food for Plecos?
  20. Ken Burke

    Pleco

Ah. My first batch of repashy was a disaster! My ratio was inverted, water too cool. bid not make another batch for months.
  21. @JakeH, stunning. Never have I seen a gold Marble angel.
