  1. They all got big sadly, mine are at around 4-5” now but there’s reports of even bigger ones.
  2. Kanaplex is a good idea and maybe Maracyn (erythromycin) to make sure you have all the bases covered. There’s a lot of variables that can affect the water quality of a fish tank. Not sure what you mean by “tests were negative”. Do you mean everything was 0? That’s odd for a cycled tank since you should have some nitrates unless it’s heavily planted. Also what is the PH?
  3. That’s what I was thinking… most likely just misgendering young fish rather than actual sex changes.
  4. Last week I attended Max’s 13th birthday party. Max is a red eared slider lol. We had TMNT theme going on, had pizza and even a turtle cake. Great gathering and good excuse to bring fish and aquatic animal enthusiasts together. gotta start planning birthday parties for my bigger fish now haha
  5. I have not seen it personally but I’ve heard that female only tanks can sometimes have a female turn into a male? Is that the case?
  6. It’s a canna lily. This is pretty much an experiment to see if this variety can live fully submerged for long periods. So far so good (it’s been 1 month).
  7. You can use fishing line to wrap around the moss and “train it” to grow how you want it
  8. Very easy to see, cold and heat tolerant and reproduce readily!
  9. I got them from a reputable seller off band app (Alex fish room). They have been quarantined and so far so good.
  10. I have the same issue with stores around me. Could have been stress from shipping perhaps. Neos can be sensitive when getting settled but once established the colonies breed like crazy.
  11. Out of curiously… how big is your tank? The tank is still fairly new as well but seems like the other shrimp are doing good so far so that’s good news. Ideally there should be 0 ammonia and nitrite but the levels are very low so it should be fine. Did you get the shrimp from the same source? I find that local breeders are best unless you’re sure the pet store acclimated their shrimp properly.
  12. If the mother is new she may have birthed prematurely… it happens sometimes. Guppies are quite tolerant of temps but a heater may help. It is odd that there’s 0 nitrates though, it can happen in heavily planted tank but normally that’s the time when I add some ferts. Not sure if more food was needed, especially in a planted tank with no other fish, I personally only feed guppy babies 2x per day on average and they do fine.
  13. There are a few pumps that are fairly cheap there’s an aqua eat on Amazon for about $8. Power heads work too.
