So I was wondering what are your Christmas traditions that you do with your families? My favorite tradition is drinking Mountain Dew while setting up my Christmas tree. I don't know why I do it, but it's just a fun tradition that I do.
A cherry shrimp colony would be nice. They can go in very cold temps and I heard Cory on one of his old fish room tours say that he had cherry shrimp outside all year in one of his ponds.
Looks like I am selling some of my fry to my LFS on Saturday for only 70 cents each. Kind of disappointed but my I have another big female so I'm about to get some more fry.
I used to have 6 tanks dedicated to guppies. Now I have narrowed it down to 4 and most of the pretty males are going to the lfs. I really like guppies it’s just they take so much room with all the fry, that it can make it a hassle.
So I googled it. It didn't say anything about Avocado wood but here are some ones that you can NOT use.
Cedar (avoid anything evergreen/coniferous)
Cypress
Grape vine – this rots very quickly
Horse chestnut
Lilac – this is poisonous
Ivy – this is poisonous
Pine
Spruce
Walnut
Yew – this is toxic
I don't use a container. Most the males that I had are like 3-4 months so I could tell right off the bat that if they were males or females. I probably have 200 or so guppies so that was the hard part.
I really like those females! Most of mine are really ugly. But I have a few ones with ok tails.
Worked 3 hours in the fish room. Did water changes, put up my new 10 gallon Krib breeding tank. Also separated all my guppies into 3 separate tanks. Babies, Males, and Females to sell to my LFS next Saturday. Phew that was some work.
