  1. If your still seeing symptoms after the frist full course of treatment do a 50% water change and run carbon to remove the remaining medication do another full course treatment with Kanaplex and jungal fungus clear fizz tabs sometimes it can take two full courses of treatment back to back to treat columnaris
  2. That looks like hole in the head disease the most effective treatment is metronidazole that the active ingredient in metroplex adding it to food feeding a small amount twice a day for upto 3 weeks @Zesul
  3. What I would suggest is trying frozen or live blood worms brine shrimp or daphnia to try and stimulate it's appetite if he stills doesn't eat I would do a course of kanaplex just in case there's a bacterial component @Knew tooth is
  4. If your getting odd behaviour Frist I would check your water parameters before doing anything else just in case something off @iwanttostayanonymous 92074
  5. Nerite snails will be fine with salt that level of salt I would be more worried about medication harming them I would always recommend removing them during treatment
  6. I would recommend treating with maracyn2 in food and dose the tank with salt as kanaplex is poorly absorbed by the intestinal tract he's a medicated food recipe you can use with maracyn2 @Keegif your fish isn't eating I would dose the tank and add some aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 3 gallons if you don't have live plants
  7. I would lower the dose of Epsom salt to 1 table spoon for 3 gallons as he's had negative reaction to the higher dose

  9. When it's affecting one eye it's usually caused by an injury what I do is also add a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons at that level it shouldn't harm your plants and will help reduce any possible fluid buildup in the eye @Alex S.
  10. You can leave the plants in during treatment but kanaplex can cause some types of plants to melt back do a large water change 50% water change before you start treating with kanaplex reduce feeding to once a day during treatment that should help keep your nitrates below 40ppm during treatment @Ceci
  11. You can use Epsom salt and aquarium salt together they won't have a negative interaction as long as you don't go above 1 table spoon for 1 gallon combined salt concentration you should be fine
  12. I lower dose of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 3 gallons if the lump are fluid filled the salt will help reduce the fluid buildup I wouldn't go above that level of salt as plecos are more sensitive to salt
  13. How long has he had these lumps and have you added any new fish to the tank recently that could have bought in disease and have you noticed any aggression between your plecos it's always possible its an injury @Logangus119
  14. If your going to use repashy mix the medication in as it starts to thicken that when the repashy starts to rapidly losing heat
  15. What I do is add one gallon of tank water to a bucket that way it has the same temperature and water parameters as his main tank the temperature won't fluctuate much in 15 minutes and top of his tank i wouldn't keep the same bath I would make up fresh Epsom salt bath every
  16. I think it would be worthwhile treating with Epsom salt baths 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more than minutes for 5 days as Epsom salt acts as a muscle relaxant to relieve pressure on the swim bladder
  17. From what I have read Scuds can be used as an intermediate host by some types parasites chance is small that they would reinfect your fish I have no experience with Scuds as far sensitivity to medication treatment might crash your culture I would just leave it for a minimum of 4 weeks before feeding scuds from this tank @FishGuy919
  18. Sorry for your loss never easy to lose fish you have had for a long time With mast die offs I would be looking at chemical contamination if your water parameters are fine maybe air fresheners or cleaning product on your friends Hands if he put his hands in the tank when he was feeding or some other form of contamination @rockfisher
  19. Good to hear that hopefully no more fish losses
  20. Looks like it could be aeromonas it's a gram negative anaerobic bacteria that a fast moving bacteria what I would do is a course of metroplex to treat the tank as the active ingredient in metroplex metronidazole treat's aeromonas and do a course of maracyn2 in food feeding a small amount twice a day for 7 days combination of two very effective at treating aeromonas @Mahi27
  21. If your going to treat with kanaplex just remember it can harm your benefial bacterial so keep a close eye on your water parameters during treatment I would add an air stone back in during treatment as the medication changes the viscosity of water lowering the levels of desloved oxygen @Ceci
  22. The spots look raised to me here's how you tell the difference between ich and epistylis if it's epistylis you want to treat with maracyn2 in food feeding a small amount twice a day for 7 days and dose the tank with ick x @Hiếu Lê
