  1. if i was to start again as a first time, i would look to find females in their own separate tank at the lfs. pick a few that look good to you, and then pick out a male that catches your eye. females in a mixed tank have most likely already been bred, so that makes your choice in males unimportant.
  2. if you can shut off the blue lights that would be good too. blue lights grow algae very well.

    Snail love?

    they are getting frisky!
  4. cherry shrimp, ember tetra's, chili rasbora's. lots of good choices for a 20l.
  5. i would empty/dump them out just to be safe.
  6. took german in high school, cant speak it, but if a german speaks very slowly i can pick out words i know. picked up the needed words in countries ive been to in the pacific, but remember very few. i speak crusty sailor pretty well , even though its been a lot of years!🤪
  7. pretty much anything larger than the nano pumps should put enough air through one to cycle the media. think i have a tetra whisper 20 or something running mine, and its way more pump than it needs.
  8. cut back on lighting hours a little bit. generally the hair algae's are a good indication of too much light.
  9. im in the club that believes snails just make another layer of poop.
  10. you should start using fertilizer yesterday.
  11. ive never really seen much of a difference between the two. either will grow tall enough to lay over the top of the water .
  12. id go with the co-op nano pump. i have a sample of 1, been running for 6 months so far.
  13. it sure looks like you have a male, and female in that picture. the female being bigger. if you look along the underside of the tail, the female will be slightly rounded, and the males will be flatter appearing.
  14. assassin snails are what you seek to control other snail populations.
  15. superglue will be rock hard and perfectly safe within seconds of it getting wet. water causes it to dry almost instantly. offgassing, good question. its likely even if it does offgas much, you are using so little to anchor plants that it should not be a concern.
  16. i have a couple different hyger lights on my tanks, and am fairly happy with them. they are a good value for the dollar.
