  1. Years ago our old public aquarium was much larger but your right better than not having one.
  2. @Tony s thanks for the shout out for the Cleveland Zoo. Tbh I'm disappointed about the size of our public aquarium.
  3. Wow those are great exhibits. I'm a big fan of Octopus. Thanks for sharing.
  4. Softwood like pine release resins that can potentially be harmful to fish. Yes if aged it's probably good but I personally wouldn't use it. I have branches and small hollowed out hardwood in a couple of my aquariums. They have been in the aquarium for a few years now.
  5. If you know that the area is fertilizer or contaminate free wood ok to use. Also the wood could possibly be from a softwood tree and will break down faster than hardwood such as Oak. Give it a good rinse and if it comes apart easily don't use.
  6. No about your fish just for anyone not knowing about that contagious disease.
  7. @JohnNYC I agree with everyone but if any fish was infected by Columnaris definitely would use bleach.

  9. @DebSills I think you did a excellent job on the aquarium rebuild and diy stand build. I felt extremely proud of myself when I got the confidence to build a stand for a 180gal.
  10. @EnvyDontKnow How many aquariums do you have setup and running?
  11. Great vendor ordered Rainbow Darter from them. https://g.co/kgs/1vEVa1Y
  12. @Flumpweesel very interesting article. Thanks for sharing. Imagine having those little fish in a home aquarium and get woke by that noise.
  13. @pdmeighen Welcome to the forum.
  14. @Kenaqua I suggest offering raw shrimp. The puffer is probably waiting to be fed the snails.
  15. @Pepere That setup looks awesome. Do you rinse the gravel off in the filter? I'm asking because the gravel could support beneficial bacteria.
  16. Yes almost until I looked again 😆
  17. You can place the plant on the ground as long rhizome not covered by substrate.
  18. The reason for attaching these plants because rhizome can't be buried in the substrate.
  19. @Gideyon Are you ok with attaching the plant to wood or a rock with sewing thread? If so Anubius or Java Fern will do ok in low light. You can purchase Anubius in plastic containers Petsmart or maybe Petco.
