Omg that sounds…..traumatic . 🤯

Their shells are very pretty though. I like the pink ones @Katherine has.

I'm not sure I would get them again either. At least not in a tank with mysteries. I'm controlling population through periodic removal.

Visually, they're not too bad in my tank until the food for the mysteries goes in and then they swarm.

My order from HarryShrimpStore (Etsy) came today. I’m happy with it! For ten bucks, I think these are nice-lookin pieces.

Yes I have been very happy with both purchases I made from Harry's. I get my philo and alder cones from him. And I like his pleco caves. The caves are a bit pricey but I like the darker colors you can get from him. I want to get a couple more for the grow out tank. And I'm sure the peacock Gudgeons will like them when I get them later on as well

I just realized I have two different … litters(?) of shrimplets. Wow! One is practically invisible (grain of sand) and the other (see cholla photo above) is pretty apparent.

And this adult has eggs!
Everything is happening so quickly!

It does not take long. No as fast as guppys but pretty close lol. Good water quality and food and your off to the races. Only good thing is they have such a tiny bioload that it tanks a ton and a half before they would start to impact the balance of the ecosystem

Why I can’t siphon….

Do you have a food container that's empty or a small plastic thing?  He uses a tea strainer (fine mesh) which you could find a few things to sub in there.  Then you just tighten the lid down and you have a siphon.

It might not work as a gravel vac, but it might get some stuff up, depending.

I have a “DEAN’S”  French Onion Dip

container! LOL But some of the new babies are just very difficult to see - I’ve been using the phone camera to zoom in and look at the substrate. I wouldn’t try siphoning yet. They need to grow some first. Then I would probably turkey baster into the dip container and watch for movement like @Bev C. Any kind of mesh or filter hinders mulm removal.

Ohh I see. I do have little condiment containers with screw on lids that look like what he’s using on the end of the hose
