Daniel
Do you ever find an old photo and say to yourself, I don't remember this. The photo is from Christmas of 2009. Everything looks right about the big aquarium, I remember the runaway plant growth. But the 1930's fish tank is in the living room and has discus in it? Beats me! 2
MickS77
My first tank with an Oscar & Firemouth Cichlids as well, 2012 I think. Fake silk plants and mixed sand substrate. Oscar outgrew the tank and went back to the store. I bought this tank when my parents were out of town 😆 easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
Alexa
September 2018 - fancy goldfish in a 29. I thought it was a huge tank at the time. 😓
Hobbit
This was my 55 gallon 11 months ago—my first real tank that wasn’t a fish bowl. I was really excited about the walstad method. So yes I started with a whole lot of dirt. Two months later with some more plants and growing time (there are fish in there somewhere too): A few months in:And now! I want to re-scape and add new plants soon. 🙂 Edited November 12, 2020 by Hobbit
shkote
That little cave is still buried somewhere under the driftwood...amazing how big tanks look when fish are small. The second photo was dinner time. When I do water changes, it looks as empty as the 1st photo. 🤦🏻♀️

H.K.Luterman
I'm a day late! X3 But I found an old pic of my 40 breeder, back when I was doing a lot of experimenting with different plants. And my bichir, Dragon, still lived in there before I bought him a 75. And the 40 in it's current form. Pooka the catfish has really shaped how it looks since I wanted to give her adequate swimming space and a cave. Also she chewed up all the anubias I had put in there save for that one, which she moved to that spot.
