Well we had a a major problem with things. The stupid impeller broke on the hob penguin 350. The new ones are made of a much thinner weaker plastic than the old ones. The new impeller will break with simply installing it or a piece of debris gets in that area. So to fix this I added a second sponge filter that was in a tank waiting to get used. I thought that it would keep the filtration closer to the same. I’m not planning on replacing the impeller at this time. Some update pictures

Tanks in south Florida do well be parts don’t. I would love to buy a used Penguin 350 impeller as a new one is $28 and a used complete filter I can’t find one local. One used on a resale sold is 25-30 but shipping makes it close to the price of new one. O who want a heat that has been used. Most people don’t. I see some top end canister filters reselling for good money.

Koi get so big so fast. I have one in a good size pond 30’x20’x6’ and 6 months it’s grown 8 inches. I don’t know much about koi I just know mine is big. I started with 6 2” koi and just the one hade past a few weeks.some gold fish is great

The cheapest way is to call the local metal work shop or wielder. They are going to be less than most companies. The shipping can kill you on a nice metal stand. If you have any carpentry skills you can make a nice heavy duty stand with 2x4. Or if you have a cabinet maker around they can do a great job. most custom aquarium makers are going to be the same people That make the stands.

The light is off in the room where I hatch them if just use a light to collect. If you are worried about it you could cut a square out of the bucket and bolt/screw plexiglass on the top.
