redmare
I have six tanks, and I like to do all my testing and maintenance on the same day, but I only have three test tubes (since I constantly break all the api ones) and I hate having to stop and wash them between every tank or twice a tank. So... This was my solution! I'm so proud of this. I found a piece of scrap wood in my dad's shop and used a drill press to put all the holes in. I ordered a pack of 30 test tubes for like 8 dollars on amazon. I bought a whiteboard poster board at the dollar store and peeled off the dry erase part, cut that into little pieces, and used some white glue to stick them down. I used a power sander to round up the corners and give it a touch of fancy! I'm so proud of this and it makes testing sooo much easier. 14

Jeff
I made one of these for my weekly testing. It's a square piece of scrap wood, and has six holes. Four for the big four, and two others if I wanna do Gh/Kh.

Will Billy
You know, that is quite simple and intelligent. As i sit here now carefully placing my wobbly test tubes on my table to begin my water test, staring at the one tube that has a small crack in it from where it had previously fallen over. I realize i need this little invention in my life. 1

Perhaps the universe is trying to tell me something lol. 1

Rhonda
I love this! I got tired of breaking tubes too. Here is my quick fix, but the wood is so much nicer. I hate styrofoam, until I find a use for it🙂
Daniel
I used our kitchen cutting board. Beside the holes for the tubes, I cut a slot in back to hold the results/color card. When possible I use natural light to view the results. 1
StephenP2003
I have stolen so many of my wife's kitchen supplies (tupperware, measuring spoons, cups, pots, etc.). I end up buying her a replacement; I just don't want to wait for stuff to arrive to do the thing I want to do right then.

I now have assigned measuring spoons and should I get caught using any other set....

Hobbit
The things @Daniel makes out of cutting boards... I think once he made an artificial heart for one of his discus. Am I remembering that right? 🤔
