@FlumpweeselIt shut my area down for about a day and a half. We are expecting a repeat snow event this weekend. Yay! lol

@missriss126 It did work! It will be a little tight but KBozzies suggestion about warming it up with warm water worked well.

We don't get much snow in South Carolina. Look's like I won't be going into work right away today! Anyone else getting this snow flurry tonight?
-
The directional surface flow is exactly what I'd like to try in a tank. We are snowed in today, but I will have to make a trip to the hardware store. Might be fun to tinker with the idea. Thanks!

Has anyone tried making DIY airlift or "Jetlift" out of an aquarium coop sponge filter?

Did you use super glue like you would use for securing plants or was it a stronger version?

I found for the first couple weeks the filters weren't pulling as much. Once they were a little more established and had accumulated some debris, they started to pull more efficiently from the water column.

@Torrey I volunteered at the Carolina Aquatic Expo last Halloween. When I went on a break, I saw the piece at a vendors booth and had to snatch it up. Once I am back from my upcoming cruise, I will double check the logs progress. If it's not sunk, I may have to get some slate to weigh it down and get it placed in the tank. The tank will be getting a rescape/overhaul then anyway.

What's the longest it's taken your wood to get water logged?

I had the tank almost full when this one decided to float on setup day. The diffuser idea is great! I will keep that mind in for the next tank setup. Been thinking about getting a piece of slate and screwing the sucker in. And then just cover the slate with the substrate. Will -
Week six of waiting for this lovely log to be ready to put into the tank. All my prep to plant tank on setup and I totally didn't think about the wood floating. I thought it was dense enough to sink first try.

IME, If it drops leaves, it will bounce back. I bought one and knocked it's leaves off by accident. About 3 weeks later, new fresh leaves are popping up.

Fluval Plant 3.0 Scheduling and Programming
WillC replied to Streetwise's topic in Community Resources
Fluval Nano Light question. Will the nano be large enough for a Waterbox Clear Mini 10 to use for low to medium light plants? Dimensions are very similar to a standard 10g. Thanks for any input!- 360 replies

Do you take any extra steps when adding new plants to a tank? Quarantine? Dips? Floating?
-
@Streetwise I am running 3 mediums on my 40b with the nano usb pumps. I'd love to go lidless but I find the splashback from the air bubbles hits the surface and send water out of the tank. I've been wondering if nanos being 2 inches shorter might help with the discharge problem. I'll have to add one to my next order and see how it goes.

I adore this tank. It's one of my favorites to follow. What size sponge filters are you running?

Is this a AC usb nano pump? If so, give it a good whack or two on a hard surface. It seems to get the pumps chugging along again. Will

I did a little digging through the creators Facebook pages. Looks like she is using Dennerle Scapers light for their setups. Looks like its a European model... https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dennerle-Scapers-Light-24-8000K/dp/B00BV9AZ90

I ordered a Anubias nano petite white for myself. And a few Anubias micros to add to my tank! Will

There are SOOOO many choices and everyone has a different suggestion. It's very easy to second guess yourself and overthink it. Especially, when budget enters the picture. I experience this ALL the time. Don't ask me how many times I've went back and forth about purchases I almost made or did make. And returned a few of them the next day. Will

I hate the lid with a passion. It casts a shadow down the middle of the tank. It's clunky to work around when I want to do things in the tank. Also, I like the idea of seeing down from the top view, but the lid obstructs the view. That's why I was considering going lidless. My only issue with go lidless with sponge filters is the back splash kicking water out of the tank. So I was considering compromising with my lid view obstruction, by going down to one sponge so the view into the tank is more appealing. And after watching an older filtration videos I thought it might be fun to put the less is more filtration theory to the test. I won't make any sudden changes but thinking out loud basically to see what sticks. My other thought was to throw two aqua clears on the side and take the lid off. Will
