  1. Thanks for the input! It confirms the options that I've been pondering. Luckily the stand has a solid surface and is built to hold up to anything so that doesn't limit my options. Will
  2. I have a stand that fits a 36x 18 foot print. It’s made for a 40g but I’m finding I’d like to go to a smaller volume. has anyone seen 36” wide tanks that are closer to 20ish gallons?
  3. I under stood your post! Question for you, what media did you use in your Tidals?
  4. I am in the process of putting an order into the Coop. Current Residents: 5-6 Mystery Snails ??? Ramshorn Snails 1 Bristlenose Pleco 1 Betta 4 Cories *Added today. Current Feeding Regimes: Hikari Sinking Wafers Xtreme Betta Xtreme Shrimpee Random Frozen Foods My order will be for 3-4 months of food. I will be adding a TBD schooling fish to round out the tank next month. Here are my questions. What size Xtreme pellet should I use for this mix of fish? I was thinking of switching over to the 1.5 pellet from Xtreme, but fear it may the too large for the betta. What Xtreme brand products would you recommend for my crew? My current basket has Xtreme Sinking Wafers, Xtreme Krill Flakes, Xtreme Shrimpee, and Xtreme 1.5 Floating Pellets. Thanks for any input.

  6. @Pinesong I bought a little of this and that to try in the tank. It seemed to work. Only lost a couple species. Now I can narrow down what works for me. Today, I finished prepping my hardscape to add finally. It will go in soon with some new Buce. Things will be rearranged and replanted to make it a little more appealing to my eye.
  7. What goal are you working towards with your parameters?
  8. March Update: Tank is still a work in progress. Current plants are just hanging out until I get my hardscape in so I can move things around and add more plants. I did switch out my sponge filters for 2 Seachem Tidal 55s with Galaxy Glow Studio filter baffles. Using Aquarium Coop Sponge Coarse Pad as the filter media instead of then matrix. It seems to be working really well so far! Current Denizens: Albino Bristlenose Pleco Blue Mystery Snails Random rams horn babies that came in with plants.
  9. Are these the only three tanks you are using for your BAP journey? I thought about a similar setup once Bentley starts his plant program.
  10. If I remember the tank you are taking about, I think it came with a cheap plastic lid that just sits on top of the tank. It doesn't offer any support or framework.
  11. Yeah that was the idea behind me using this. I thought a clear solo cup looked wonky and cheap.
  12. So Irene had a video where she showed a cup being placed above a sponge filter to prevent the splash back from hitting the lid of the aquarium as much. This is my biggest complaint about using sponge filters so I want to try it. The look of the cup was unappealing to me so I went on the hunt for a similar item to try. I came across these on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B097LNG9NV?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details Hoping this would be a cleaner looking version of a cup. Not loving but I will try it to see if grows me. Thoughts?
  13. In regards to another male later, you can cross your boy to all your girls and later get a male from another breeder with a strong, healthy line that has a look you like to cross all his daughters too. After that, you could cross your best original male's son to the best daughters of the new male. Just keep crossing back and only using animals you like the look of that are healthy. Will
  14. Cory covers all the Easy line in this video... And Irene covers Easy Carbon here...
  15. @Candi @Zenzo @Cory Did you email customer service?
  16. Tank is still patiently waiting for hardscape to get ready so I can rescape. Parameters are on point. Still looks like a hot mess, but most plants are happy. I did switch from sponges to a Seachem Tidal 75. Its working ok.
  17. Does anyone work with Polar Blue Parrots? Pros Cons? Blood Parrots have always been one of my dream fish and BLUE is my favorite color. Will
  18. So what fish are retailers teasing you with?
  19. I am finding Tiger Lotus and Red Tiger Lotus really fun to grow out. It's super hardy and dynamic in the tank! Tiger Lotus on ACoop https://www.aquariumcoop.com/products/tiger-lotus-bulb-only?_pos=1&_psq=tiger&_ss=e&_v=1.0
  20. How recent was it? There is this one.
  21. Forgot to add... I highly recommend watching Snake Discovery on YouTube. Ed and Emily do an excellent job educating the public and are highly entertaining. Also, there is a Reptile based education collectible card series that is starting out. You can google Creature Care Cards and check them out. Highly informative and well written. It reminds me so much of the zoo card that I had growing up.
  22. Leos are really good beginner pets. I tend to stick with Crested s, Gargs, and other New Caledonia species due to not having the need for heat. They are also super handleable. I have a few questions for you: How large of an enclosure are you wanting to work with? What budget are you considering for the pet itself? Are there any feeder insects that you aren't fond of having to deal with? Anyway, I've been breeding Crested Geckos and active in the herper world since 2010. So if you need any recommendations for breeders or a sounding board, feel free to message me or tag me. One of my kiddos...
  23. Welcome to the forum! If its something you're interested, start a journal on your new tank. I am finding it fun and informative to get feedback on my new tank as I go.
