  1. Wow. I have PFS like 2" to 3" down but I'm kinda nervous, I have shrimp and fish in a small tank. Yeah Ill just go with the co op or seachem ones then, whichever is easiest to get at the moment.
  2. Really? Wow I thought it was as popular as val. Huh, that is strange. Maybe I just need to try it out again, in a different tank.
  3. I also don't like killing plants.... Ok maybe I'll try em out next time Im shopping on Aquarium Co Op
  4. Nice. The Aquarium near where I live doesn't nearly have as much freshwater tanks, 99% are saltwater. Then again, I am on the California coast so it probably makes sense to focus on the ocean.
  5. yeah I agree. Good thing you didn't leave it outside with the lid off, then I would just advise putting very lightly diluted bleach in a water gun, kicking the bucket over, then running to a safe spot and start spraying. But just bleaching the wood would probably be a good call.
  6. You think I could use 1 like every month or even every few months? I feel like I would run out too quick since I want some in my val and crypts.
  7. @Brandy hm...Im planning to get some pygmy cories soon, Maybe if they're finicky I'll put some dry food in the capsule lol
  8. You think setting aside like half a capsule with some food would distract them enough to make them forget about it? Or are they just really attracted to it?
  9. Indeed. lol everyone raves about Easygreen-which I do have!- but no one really talks about Easy Root Tabs. Who knows, maybe 2021 is Corys years for his root tabs. I dunno
  10. But none of this solves the mystery of why your cories like it so much! I guess we'll never know.
  11. Yeah Im also trying to mush all of it into my head. For now, I just know plants need light. But you know what know one told me? Some plants will just die in your water. For some reason, Pennywort just won't grow for me, at all. It starts developing pinholes, turning yellow and melting, and I got so frustrated. Eventually I convinced myself the plant was ugly and too big and that was the end of that.
  12. That does sound a little annoying...but the Aquarium Co Op ones? I've never really considered them. I saw a video around a week ago that showed the Seachem Flourish ones were clearly superior- even if everyone's water is different. Unfortunately, it looks like with the QT he couldn't get the Co Op tabs through. Aquarium Co Op offers 20 for 10...Seachem offers 10 for 10 but those tabs are pretty thick. You think they're worth more? Oooh..the whole "popping out of the substrate" thing really just doesn't work with me. Maybe I won't get em, I can already imagine myself dying over them- trying to replant them in my 10g. Hm...I plan to keep some honey gouramis (according to the Internet, ~8 years max) and pygmy cories (~3-4 years max). Kinda scared for the honey gouramis, maybe I should just get the pre made ones. Or maybe Im just realizing I'm too lazy to do all this when I can just get some for 10 bucks,
  13. 😁Good to hear! I have the lace leaf variety, but Im sure that won't affect it.
  14. One of the worst parts about this is they just look ugly, not even like regular mussels. Hope we can contain and put down the outbreak!
  15. You think its the same for water wisteria? Just grows as slow as my Java fern or java moss.
  16. Great, will try the Osmocote thing. If that doesn't work out, then I'll try the pond tabs. If that doesn't work I'll try the Seachem ones, since they're a lot cheaper than I remembered lol I just liek the idea of DIY things working. Y'know what I mean?
  17. you think a small school (6-7-8) of pygmy cories burrow that much? I just thought they slightly turned up the surface, but barely. Never kept any cories before.
  18. Hmm..ok. Maybe I'll just let it grow for like a week or 2. I don't really mind the rockwool. Yeah I heard about people floating it. Water Wisteria just doesn't grow for me. The bacopa, which is also growing really slowly, is faster than it. But everything kinda got wiped out in a weird, short form of staghorn algae so I don't really blame it. Just got some water sprite because I thought it was going to fill the role of the wisteria, hoping it does good as my val (which grows pretty fast with the runners. Not so much the actual mother plant)
  19. Ok, I guess I can take it out. There's already air roots so Im sure if I damage the bottom ones it'll be fine. I didn't know the rockwool had nutrients, I just have some sand. Hoping that the roots won't rot and Easygreen will be enough.
  20. Can’t add the photo since it’s more than the uploaded allows(?), but it’s a decently sized water sprite I got last week, and since I’ve been dosing easy green, it’s growing pretty well. Think I remember a video by Bentley Pascoe saying he lets the plant in the pot grow out, and then when it develops air roots he snips it. But the water spite I have has roots in the bottom and coming from the bottom of the stalks. Ok- point is- this is my first potted plant, and I’m afraid to take it out of the rock wool damage the roots. Can I just bury the whole thing like half an inch deep or do I have to take it out? oh and I can upload it, just not for the thumbnail!
  21. Honestly, if I were you in this situation, me being someone who only knows that plants like light, I would just leave it. I mean, how bad could those spots be? Also kinda sounds like its going to come back and bite me in the butt, but I don't think its worth all that time for some little black dots.
  22. Oh! And there's more than 1. Amazing. Also, Im pretty sure its also a sign of oiverfeeding.
  23. Oh wow, that is horrifying. I have never seen a planaria that big, just kill it with fire. Or some popular "medications" (is that what I call them?) like No Planaria. I think Fenbendazole works too, planaria eat shrimp btw. Maybe fish? Idk, but get rid if it man. Plenty of good videos on Youtube too, think Irene even made 1 with 4 methods of getting rid of them.
  24. lol Im just surprised they actually sold shrimp at Petco. Good quality ones for that matter.
