  1. Congratulations Frist fry always exciting
  2. Swim bladder caused by a number of things. constipation bacterial infection fish over eating and the stomach putting pressure on the swim bladder. parasitic infections. what I would do Epsom salt baths 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more than 15 minutes for 5 days as Epsom salt acts as a muscle relaxant to help relieve pressure on the swim bladder what medicated tablets were you treating with
  3. What are your ammonia and nitrite what are you feeding and how often any rapid breathing
  4. Any ammonia or nitrite are extremely toxic that could be causing the symptoms your seeing I wouldn't treat with more medication what I would do is get your ammonia and nitrite to zero with daily 50% water water changes and add a double dose of prime to help detoxify any ammonia or nitrite and i would do Epsom salt baths 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more than 15 minutes as epsom salt acts as a muscle relaxant to help with bloating
  5. It could be a cyst or an injury to the tail fin that has caused localized inflammation what I suggest is quarantine and treat with aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 3 gallons for a week
  6. Popeye can be caused by an injury to the eye bacterial infection a growth behind the eye looking at the pictures I would keep treating with aquarium salt that will help reduce fluid buildup in the eye and I would do a course of maracyn2 just in case there's a bacterial component active ingredient minocycline also has anti-inflammatory properties so it should help reduce some of the swelling to the eye
  7. Can you take a picture it will help with a diagnosis and what are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH KH GH temperature
  8. If you don't have a heater I would add one to prevent temperature getting to low for your plecos
  9. What I would do is treat with ick X as that requires daily water changes it will help you to keep your ammonia nitire under control during treatment add some aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons as ich causes massive electrolyte loss and the salt will add back in essential electrolytes
  10. Looks like a species of diving beetle I don't no Which one
  11. they can get broken fin rays and fibrous tissue will grow to stabilise the break causing white lumps sometimes you can get secondary fungal infection as it been going on the for a couple of months with not deterioration I don't think it's anything to worry about
  12. Sorry To hear that there was probably an underlying issue that has caused the rapid deterioration such as organ failure or she could have had issues giving birth
  13. Looking at the specification it looks like it's 1.6L/min total for the double outlet version
  14. Would wait to move him till you have resolved the issue with his swim bladder
  15. Just arrived looks great. I had a quick look through lots of stunning pictures of killifish and cichlids characins & catfish. when I have more time I will give it a thorough read
  16. Swim bladder can be caused by a number of things. Such as fish over eating and stomach putting pressure on the swim bladder. a bacterial infection or injury to the swim bladder. parasitic infection. As you have fasted. What I would do is epsom salt baths 1 table spoon for 2 gallon no more than 15 minutes for 5 days. as Epsom salt acts as a muscle relaxant to help relieve press on the swim bladder I wouldn't use kanaplex in food it's poorly adsorbed by the gut maracyn2 in food is a better antibiotic treatment is it eating ok any rapid breathing @bettaballistic
  17. Yes you can use seachems stability I would just dose using instructions on The bottle do a water change before you start treating with maracyn and a water change on day six after you have done the 5 day course of treatment follow up with a second course if your not seeing much improvement with salt you only add back in what you take out so if your do a 5 gallon water change put one table spoon back to keep the salt at the required level
  18. I use a fluval inline uvc clarifier with my fluval 307 canister filter on my goldfish tank works well it has I timer so you can set it come on for 4-6-8-12 or 24hr I would leave it running for 24hr a day UV sterilisers work by breaking DNA chains of virus and bacteria to stop them multiplying it also fits smaller fluval canister filter 106 107 206 207
  19. Yes I would treat with maracyn as you have it to hand I wouldn't use Melafix with Bettas as it oil based it maybe harmful to labyrinth organ in your betta
  20. If you think it's strong enough I would do a course of kanaplex
  21. If you have the funds I would definitely get a bigger tank depending on the type of goldfish 55 gallon as a minimum 75 gallons would be better long term goldfish produce a lot of waste the bigger tank the better I wouldn't feed that food it's aimed at tropical fish I would feed hikari saki gold pellets that's what I feed my comet goldfish I would feed frozen brine shrimp or bloodworms twice a week what type of filter are you using do you have test kit or strips to test your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH KH GH
  22. Could be an injury to swim bladder releasing air what I would do is leave a low dose of Epsom salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons for 5 days and I would do a course of maracyn2 active ingredient minocycline also has anti-inflammatory properties @jwcarlson
  23. Am struggling to see any Reddening at the edges of the fins to indicate an active infection that could just be the quality of the picture he could be tearing his damage fins if he flairs a lot if your seeing his fins receding it would be worthwhile treating with kanaplex or maracyn2 that @nabokovfan87 suggested ammonia and nitire can damage the Gill tissue causing the edges of the filaments to turn grey or white your water parameters look fine other than a 0.1 reading of ammonia I don't think that's enough to cause damage your seeing is it possible you had an ammonia or nitrite spike and missed it @yve
  24. Kanaplex is a more broad spectrum antibiotic treatment you can use maracyn or maracyn2 which ever you have to hand
