What are your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH KH GH temperature how long has it had the red lump is it eating ok any rapid breathing have treated with any medication @whitetraashing
  3. Sorry hear he didn't make depending of the severity of the damage I would keeping treating with Melafix if the injury isn't serious if it's more severe i would treat with a broad spectrum antibiotic treatment such as maracyn2 or kanaplex if you can post a picture to see what's going on
  4. Good to hear if you do need to treat with antibiotic treatment in the future you can get blue planet aquari-cycline it a broad spectrum antibiotic treatment available in Australia
  5. Kosher salt fine it's pure sodium chloride safe to use
  6. Kosher salt fine as you have shrimp I would only add 1 table spoon for 10 gallons i wouldn't go above that level
  7. If you detect ammonia or nitrite and you had to do a water change say you did a 10 gallon water change add one packet of maracyn back in to keep the medication at a therapeutic level
  8. Most puffers are wild caught and they can have a heavy parasite burden so I would treat with @Odd Ducktreatment protocol for parasitic infections you could also try feeding him snails and black worms
  9. If you can't add aquarium salt what I would do is a course of maracyn and then monitor for another week to see if the eye starts to improve it can take to full courses of maracyn back to back
  10. If your tank have been established for long time the maracyn less likely to harm your benefial bacterial I would Do a 50% water change before adding the medication and you can add stability daily during treatment keep a close eye on your water parameters during treatment test for ammonia and nitrite daily during treatment
  11. Barbel erosion is usually caused by poor water quality or shape substrate I wouldn't recommend doing antibiotic treatment that will harm your benefits bacteria lead to more ammonia and nitrite spikes I would monitor keep on top of your water changes you could add some Indian almond leaves as they have antibacterial and antifungal properties that will help the barbel regrow and monitor when treating wasting disease with levamisole it can take four full course of treatment a week apart
  12. High levels of nitrates can effect your fishes immune system leading to secondary bacterial infections that can cause localized inflammation of tissue kanaplex maracyn2 are preferred choices of antibiotics as you have maracyn to hand I would do a course of that
  13. You could add a small amount of aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 10 gallons that will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes at that level it won't harm your plants as a bit of supportive care it will also help with osmoregulation
  14. Rubbing on objects can be a sign of flukes or poor water quality if you have no ammonia or nitrite and low nitrate you can rule out poor water quality could be a bacterial component what I would do is leave the salt at the level it's at and do a course of maracyn2 or kanaplex which every one is more readily available give us an update after the course of antibiotics before then if it get worse @Supermassive
  15. Not a lot to Go on it's possible they had a reaction to the medication I wouldn't recommend using multiple medication in food at the same if your going to use antibiotic treatment such as maracyn or maracyn2 I would dose maracyn and then follow up with maracyn2 in week if your doing a preventive treatment using these three medication together can put stress on the organ's and be very stressful on fish if he's hanging at the surface but your not seeing rapid breathing it could have the start of parasitic infection such as Gill flukes am not convinced there's a parasitic infection going on @nabokovfan87keeps these so maybe it's something they have come across this behaviour I haven't kept Cory's in a long time
  16. The khuli loach might possible end up a snack depending of mouth size when the prochilodus get bigger
  17. My experience with big fish if it will fit in there mouth they will eat it if your shrimp are 6in I would say that's less likely
  18. He could have been weakened by the nitrite and ammonia that has pushed him over the edge if you don't have any aquarium salt in the tank I would 1 table spoon for 5 gallons it will aid Gill function and add essential electrolytes and add another air stone it's not looking good at this point I don't think treating him with medication would be beneficial it will be more stressful in his weaken state @TheChunkyFish
  19. They can get round 14in they will probably eat your shrimp Ramshorn snails when they put on some size @Ericka Ketchum
  20. Frozen or live work best you could try freeze dried
  21. What I would do is a course of maracyn2 or kanaplex which ever one is more readily available both are broad spectrum antibiotic treatments just in case there's a bacterial component @Wove
  22. Popeye can be caused by a number of things. such as an injury to the eye. a bacterial infections. a growth behind the eye poor. water quality. what I would do is add some aquarium salt 1 table spoon for 5 gallons. For a week. that will help reduce fluid buildup in the eye. and do a course of maracyn just in case there's a bacterial component. I would check your water parameters ammonia nitrite nitrate pH KH GH temperature just case something off @schmofam
  23. I would holed off on any further treatment and concentrate on getting your nitrite to zero at that level it's extremely toxic to your fish is probably the cause of what your seeing you can also add prime to help detoxify nitrite @Dave H
