  1. I have never tried this before however I think it could be done pretty easily however you would probably need to strain them out of the brine water and freeze them in fresh as I know it is much harder to freeze salt water.
  2. Yep a rosy barb would be my best guess.
  3. Yes. I should have been more specific. I think that is true for the most part for kullis but for other fish not really. @anewbie
  4. That is great! I’m glad cutie is doing better!
  5. I have been there a few times although I live 4+ hrs away (driving through the area) and it is a great store except some of the fish can be super pricey. I got a <1in panda Cory without looking at the price….$15 later. Anyway great store with a great selection!
  6. This is the stream where Cory talked about this topic. The part pertaining to this thread starts at 55:30 although there is a bit relating to it before.
  7. I wouldn't go with c02 right off the bat. Those plants look happy right now and I would wait to see how they do.
  8. Today I did a water change on my 10 gal guppy/shrimp/snail breeding aquarium. I also noticed a bit of what looked to be fungus on the fin of my pea puffer, who I decided to name Claire, so I treated her with some ich-x. Additionally, I found and purchased an albino female krib on aquabid so I should hopefully be able to start breeding kribs. Lastly, I fed some of my fish blackworms which they seemed to enjoy however my puffer didn't like the frozen bloodworms I fed last night. Any ideas why?
  9. I think that would work just fine. I'll be interested to see what everyone else has to say.
  10. @Ken Burke That was my go-to food for them. They also enjoyed cucumbers.
  11. I agree with @lefty o The sponge will help the bacteria grow more and faster. Adding an airstone would be helpful or at the very least wouldn't hurt.
  12. Looks great! I need to tidy up a lot of my fish stuff but haven't gotten around to it.
  13. It’s going well welcome back!
  14. If there aren’t any obvious negative effects from them I wouldn’t be too worried. I bet your betta loves eating them!
  15. My philosophy is that if they can get in a place they can get back out. I would only be concerned if they could get in something like a filter with a running impeller that could dice them up.
  16. I have always thought one of those aquariums would be cool. The fact that it “gathers” the fry for you is super cool! You could possibly use at as an aquarium for pregnant females and then take the fry from the top and move them to a grow-out.
  17. I have always wanted to do discus so option 1 would be my pick however I do enjoy my kullis and yo-yos so I can see why you would want some loach action in the aquarium!
  18. That sounds like it would be an excellent improvement! The store I bought the shrimp from was about an hour and a half away from where I live but I was driving through and decided it wouldn't hurt to swing by. I'm glad I did!
  19. I would probably put the female in her own tank and put the other fish back in the 29. I had the same issue when I first bred guppies and I only had two females in that aquarium so a lot of the fry survived.
  20. Thanks @Minanora I also have issues finding room for all the aquariums I want. I was able to pick the orange shrimp up for $5 each which I thought was reasonable considering the female was already berried. I would love to set up an aquarium with blues so I have most every color and can mix the culls for a neat effect In one of my other aquariums. But alas I don't have the space to do it right now. One day though
  21. I just purchased a berried female and a male orange neo shrimp to breed in a 3 gal. You inspired me with this thread! I was debating between orange and blue but I have black substrate so I picked the orange so I can see them better. I can't wait to get some shrimplets! Two of my cherry shrimp are also berried which is super cool! This thread has been very helpful. Thanks @Minanora
