  2. There are Endler fry hanging out in my homemade shrimp cave!
  3. I know this is a late response. I've had great results with these products..
  4. There are soooo many options! It really is what makes you happy when you look at it. I personally have always enjoyed a river rock look and have started leaning towards smaller sized gravels. It's always cool to see what everyone does amd will be cool to see what you do.
  5. Check out this little shrimpie showing off his tail!
  6. Decided to go ahead and clean 'Nano Nermy' the sponge filter! He was way over due for a cleaning! It was amazing how much gunk was in it! No shrimp in it, it was to clogged for anything to get in it! I poured all the 'stuff', on a lavender bush outside, sence I've been doing this, it grows and blooms all year round!
  7. I use instant ocean and Aquarium Co-op's eggs. I was wondering, why add baking soda? PH ?
  8. So of course after reading this, I had to try the hydrogen peroxide method! That's what I really like about the co op's forum, I learn so much! A lot of times it's one of those, ' Now why didn't I think of that?'
  9. Easy Green fertilizer is incredible!! Not only does it promote amazing growth in my Vallisneria and Tiger lillys, but it really brings on the reds in my fake plants! Just look at those colors pop!!..... ah ha ha ha. 🤣
  10. @nabokovfan87. Exactly my point, it doesn't clog! So it's no biggie! . I really like the dropper. It's the easiest way for me to dispense Easy Green in my small tanks ...Now if you have a really large tank, I suppose it would take several hours to do drops! Don't loose count... dang, was that 165 drops or 195? ha ha
  11. I noticed a little build up today under the dropper lid, but it doesn't actually effect the drops.
  12. Hey guys, I just came across this filter material the other day at our little local pet store. I have never heard of this before. Has anyone ever tried something like this? My plan is to test it out when I get a chance and see if it works.
  13. I had a 100 watt start making the high pitched noise. I moved it around closer to the intake on the HOB and higher and lower on the glass , it seemed to reduce the sound. But it's when the EL (end of life) came on, That's when I removed the suction cups and turned it around to avoid seeing the fashing EL, so the heater basically free floats, Now it doesn't make the noise! Does this make sense? 🤪 I don't know but it worked! 😄
  14. Hey this is just something I came across the other day at a little local pet store. Never heard of it before. So of course I had to get it. Has anyone ever tried this filter material before?
  15. @Galabar I really like your set up! So much simpler than what I'm doing! The room with my 20gal and the hatchery faces North, cold and so little natural light. I took some picks of, the amount of eggs recommended , the amount of eggs I've been useing and the mess after they've all hatched 😝 I just have Endlers and Guppies, they go crazy for brine shrimp! And the fry grow so fast!
  16. I hadn't heard of this filter material before. Had to check it out. It will be interesting to see how it works...
  17. I use the same hatcheries. It will definitely be a mess after all the eggs have hatched and smell bad. I flush the left over mess and clean with a mild bleach water mixture.. All the empty shells are for the most part contained in the outer ring area. You'll find you harvest multiple times over the 24 - 72 hour time frame, depending on the amount of eggs used...... I've actually spilled lots of eggs into it thinking I don't need the scoop, I can just tap tap. Whoa!! ha ha. Eggs everywhere!! That's how I got my first massive hatch, by total accident! I've experimented with large amounts of eggs, salt, temps and light. Right now my best results are with the Aquarium Co-op's eggs, a 50 watt heat lamp and instant ocean. There have been times I've gotten incredible hatches and others kind of ..meh.... maybe to much heat or not enough? To much salt or not enough. I don't think I've got any pics of the left over mess...
