  1. I saw these guys live. Alice Cooper was the opener! It was epic.
  2. Update: no, nothing in the guide on this. If I send it to you, can you help me review it also?
  3. @Guppysnail was helping me review a guide of mystery snail illnesses and care that I had emailed her. I didn’t want to post it until I knew it was good info. Let me see if anything is in the guide that mentions this.
  4. That’s gonna be tough. It’s so rare when she does it, and she will usually only do it ONE time and then be on her Snoopy way.
  5. Just to circle back to this thread to give everyone a happy update. My friend changed out the substrate because the CC was all throughout the substrate she had. She restocked after monitoring parameters for awhile and now she has discovered baby guppies and Bloody Mary shrimplets in her tank. Here are 2 photos of guppy fry (cool ghost shrimps chillin in the background) and you can see a Bloody Mary shrimplet on the moss in the 3rd photo if you zoom in a little.
  6. Not sure if I mentioned this, but sometimes Snoopy picks up sand and spits it out. (The equivalent of raiding the cupboard for snacks) She doesn’t do it every day, but on occasion.
  7. 4 more wilds moved over to the jar. Still very stable on parameters and continuing to monitor daily. I believe there are one or two more wilds in the tank that have been dodging me.
  8. That moment when you think it’s fine to put one zucchini and tell yourself, eh, they’ll just graze on & off throughout the day. Did you count 5? There are 6. Needless to say, more zucchini is cooking. Meanwhile no shrimps complained when I cooked this one too much, pretended I didn’t, and just put a plant weight around the mush. Look at the massive female. She’s like the T Rex of the shrimp tank. She’s fanning as well. A food fight broke out over the crab cuisine so I added some more bacter ae and everyone calmed down and resumed turning sand. I had just finished a water change, and this is the customary time for me to add the bacter ae anyway.
  9. Alright my turn. 29g amm 0 nitrate 50* nitrite 0 gH 150 kH 180 pH 7.2 temp 77.7 10g (shrimp) amm 0 nitrate 10 nitrite 0 gH 150 kH 180 pH 7.2 temp 76 per mercury thermometer, 75 per ACO digital heater 5.5g (betta) amm 0 nitrate 10 nitrite 0 gH 150 kH 180 pH 7.2 temp 80 Walstad Jar (shrimp) amm 0 nitrate 10 nitrite 0 gH 150 kH 180 pH 7.2 temp 73.2 Now it is time to call myself out. Right here: Yeah. Shut up Chick! You have high nitrates! *per strip. Liquid test confirmed between 40-80, always hard to read that orange card. Water change performed. Thankful for this thread. 😌 Note for anyone who noticed on the ink bird. Temp rose slightly after water change
  10. I go to a lot of his livestreams. It’s a very interesting approach. Emphasis on the food web. Embracing microfauna and microflora. Etc
  11. I noticed the dwarf hairgrass pearling, sending bubbles up to the surface. 😍 Already! I also put in one single shrimp cuisine because the shrimps still seemed to be looking for something to forage; they seemed restless. Shrimp cuisine is teeny tiny food, like a fish food micro pellet. The gang was passing it around. The snails didn’t notice it and were more interested in cleaning the driftwood and cholla wood. Being super careful about what goes into the water since there is no filter. But, so far so good.
  12. Interesting! That would be a good thing to put in the tanks when going on vacation.
  13. Erin reset her tank after the crushed coral incident. She replaced the substrate and restocked with guppies and shrimps and still has her mystery and nerite snails. And she has found 11 baby guppies and a couple of Bloody Mary shrimplets. She has some ghost shrimp in there too. Guppy Guppy Red shrimplet
  14. Seems everybody found some noms on the moss and anacharis I moved from the other tank. And while I couldn’t fit a whole piece of cholla, I hacksawed a piece off and put it in there. It’s been in the 29g and feels nice and slimy.
  15. Everybody acclimated and calm. @TOtrees was wondering what I do for the film on the top of the water. I share a tip for that in the video.
  16. This is awesome! Shrimp color looks epic and their little condominiums are cute. Nice feeding dish with shrimps eating outside the feeding dish. 😂
