Sophie
Well, that's the gravel in my fish tank. And you guys happen to know why my Betta ate my Neon Tetras.

HH Morant
I should not have said that! Sorry about your fish. I would have thought that a betta and neon tetras would be fine together in the same tank.
Sophie
I did run into an article that said that neon tetras and bettas cannot live together. Also my Betta is a she.
HH Morant
OK, she was hungry. Seriously though, bettafish.org lists neon tetras as one of the ten best tankmates for bettas. Maybe they meant "best tasting."
Patrick_G
Were they juvenile Neons?
Jungle Fan
Usually not a problem between bettas and neons. Do you have a better picture of your complete tank and the betta?
Sophie
I don't think they meant best tasting. And yes. My neon tetras were juveniles.

Patrick_G
I thought this might be the case. I lost some juvenile Rummy Nose tetras to predation last year. I might try a slightly larger type of tetra or a few Cory Catfish. Mystery Snails would also work. I think they’re super fun and they get lots of love on this forum. Sophie
My dad thinks that the cory catfish are ugly and he doesn't want me to try mystery snails. Even though I like them.
