ErinV
I am pretty much eye level with my new 90g set up and I can only rearrange plants and such with the tank half empty. I am getting close to being able to add fish. Question: how do I add root tabs or work on plants without having to do a 50% water change? Especially in those first weeks as fish get settled.
Griznatch
I use a small stool. I still end up almost to my armpits, depending on what part of the tank I'm working on. There's a really cool article by Bill Smith on here for a root tab tool. I still need to make one of these! https://forum.aquariumcoop.com/topic/554-pex-piller-quick-and-easy-diy-root-tab-injector- -substrate-inserter-pill-bottom-release-for-under-10/?tab=comments#comment-3945

LaurieinIA
My 40 gal is 25” tall on a 39” tall stand, so 64” total. Kitchen chair, long tongs, and a tank top. Lol Same for my 75, without a chair. Standard setup, but it still is “armpit tall” for me. 3

xXInkedPhoenixX
I'm tall and even I sometimes have issues with my 20 gallon tall tanks so I can see where someone who doesn't have super long arms like me would run into issues. I concur with both @Guppysnail and @Daniel aquascaping tools are super, super handy and an absolute must to have. I didn't realize they came so long though Daniel! That's awesome!! ErinV
@Guppysnail and @Daniel, I would never have thought to look for longer tools. Just assumed it was the one standard size. Looks like I will be hanging out on Amazon this evening.
Phantom240
Shirtless, with a stool and a snorkel if ya got to. At least, that's how I've attacked maintenance on tall tanks with tall stands and my not so tall body. And as @Phantom240 mentions, I have had my wife and my youngest son go into the big aquarium to move hardscape around. I know I have photos of that somewhere. 🙂 2
Phantom240
@Daniel we need those, lol. Pics of people literally in their aquariums to maintain them are always hilarious.

Lol @Danielso far on Amazon Canada the largest tongs I can find are 19 inches. Still looking though. 1

Trish
I use these gloves if I have to go deep diving in my 50g. between water changes. They are durable and good quality. https://www.amazon.com/Aquarium-Gloves-Fish-Tank-Maintenance/dp/B07D766R57/ref=sr_1_11?crid=H739A4JZSHA0&dchild=1&keywords=aquarium+gloves&qid=1626717597&sprefix=aqarium+gloves%2Caps%2C232&sr=8-11
Jungle Fan
Here's a link to some 24" planting tongs I've been using in the past for really deep tanks on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/OdontoMed2011-Stainless-Curved-Tweezer-Plants/dp/B07QXKG4GB
BenA
Step ladder and gauntlets, then some tools and please don't use a kitchen chair, there are risks that are not worth taking.
