  1. yes Ive tried both of those and it didn't help. Ive tried multiple pumps and no matter what i did it was still loud. the air pump is completely silent and the bubbles at the surface are pretty quiet, its the actual airstone making the noise. In the video I'm using a nano usb air pump so its not too powerful.
  2. I bought it as a Electric Blue Neon goby but I'm not sure if that's what I got cause it doesn't have much blue and last time I was at my lfs all of them where super blue.
  3. I had this airstone in my tank forever and it was almost completely silent but now its super loud, not the bubbles popping but the bubbles coming out are making a really loud and annoying sound you can hear it from across the room, I tried cleaning it and using different air pumps with more air or less air and I tried tightening it and loosening it but what ever I do its super loud. do you know how to fix this or what to do? the tank is in my room and I want a way to add air to my tank but be able to sleep.
  4. Yeah I think I’ll pick up some of those to maximize success, one thing I like to do is buy tropica 1-2 grow cups for floating plants because then they are super healthy and you get absolutely zero duckweed.
  5. I’m setting up a 10 gallon guppy or endler tank and I have a bunch of salvinia and I was wondering if that would be cover for fry to survive? The rest of the tank will be crypts so they will also have that for cover.
  6. anyone know where I can get Vienna guppies here in Canada?
  7. when putting co2 in a tank with a hob filter where's the best place for the diffuser for best distribution? and is there a way to put it in the hob filter? I have an AC20 also does less flow in a planted tank increase pearling?
  8. Hey guys I’m planning on getting a big tank in the next year or so and I was wondering what size tank you would recommend I get? I’m thinking either a 125g or 75g but I don’t know what’s a better option. the 75 will be cheaper and I will have more options for places to put it in my house but the 125 would give me more fish options. some of the stocking ideas I’ve thought of are: geophagus tank, dwarf mbuna tank, lake tanganyika tank, discus tank. These are some different tank setups I’d like to do some day and both the 75 and 125 would work But I don’t know if the 125 is worth the extra money/space it takes up. what would you do?
  9. I was thinking about endlers but also I just found out about heterandria formosa have you ever kept them? Would the guppies over populate too quickly in a small tank?
  10. What’s a small live bearer I could breed in my 10 gallon but would also do fine outdoors in my 100 gallon pond in the summer?
  11. I'm trying to find a carpeting plant that could make a dense carpet in a low tech 10 gallon planted tank. I really like the grass look but i don't know if those need co2?
  12. I just saw Murphy on daily dose of internet he really is one of the most famous fish. @0:22
  13. yeah its just the light is so expensive here in Canada it cost 200$ for the 36-48"
  14. @nabokovfan87 I cant get the aquarium co op one because I'm in Canada and the 3.0 is to expensive also the nicrew is water resident and 6500k. the 24 inch aquasky is 100$ here in Canada and the 36 inch is 170$ so its pretty expensive. do you have any experience with the current usa lights? they seem pretty good but I have no experience with them. Nicrew spectrum:
  15. also I just found this would this be worth the price? https://www.amazon.ca/Current-USA-Satellite-Freshwater-Aquarium/dp/B00CMFFMS6?th=1 or this one - https://piscespets.com/products/current-usa-satellite-freshwater-led?variant=39462268895297
  16. I'm trying to decide on a light for the 40 gallon breeder I'm setting up and I would like to know what would you do? the plants I'm planning on growing are all epiphytes (java fern, anubias, buce and hygrophila pinnatifida) so not super light demanding plants but I'm trying to decide between the fluval aquasky or a nicrew. @Bentley Pascoe said the aquasky grows those kind of plants super well and it has a lot of cool features but it cost 100$ more then the nicrew and probably both would grow the plants I want so what would you do? or is there a different light you would recommend? I'm in Canada so I cant get any of the finnex lights. also the aquasky would probably last longer but I'm trying to decide if its worth the extra 100$. what would you do? Nicrew- https://www.amazon.ca/NICREW-Freshwater-Aquarium-Light-Spectrum/dp/B08SBMYHGC?ref_=ast_sto_dp&th=1 Aquasky- https://www.amazon.ca/Fluval-Aquasky-Bluetooth-Aquarium-Light/dp/B07BBSRDPL/ref=sr_1_2?crid=2TINZI8R5D551&keywords=aquasky&qid=1669423823&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIyLjQxIiwicXNhIjoiMS44NCIsInFzcCI6IjAuMDAifQ%3D%3D&sprefix=aquas%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-2
  17. I'm looking for a fish that would be active and fun to watch, really fun to feed like how African cichlids eat, plant safe and I can have a big group of in a 40 gallon breeder. Any recommendations?
  18. if you want a snail to clean algae the horned nerites stay smaller then normal nerites, or even any of the nerites they wont mess up your tank and they will help keep everything clean without over populating the tank.
