  1. That pleco! 😍 Mine is cool. Yours is breathtaking! Where on earth did you get that from? I see mine every night on wood. Maybe the little one has a spot that is just.... well hidden? I enjoy my clowns. One is Luigi. It has the wider yellow/beige bands. Then there is the "other one" which has the darker complexion and is similar to the ones you guys are showing off. I don't think I've ever seen either one of them eat any algae, only wood. I really enjoy their patterns, but they are definitely more chill than other pleco species.
  2. Yes. It does. I would recommend bi-weekly. Once a month. Something like that. The more surface agitation you have, the more often you should do it.
  3. I was watching this earlier today! LOL I enjoy the lofi stuff, just having something there but not too demanding. I would love to have a saltwater, coral only tank.
  4. 1. I have a 75G sitting in the hallway, it's very sad. The fish miss their tank. 2. I really loved the setup I had for my tigerbarb swarm tank (25+ TBs). I had a variety of iterations of the tank, but I think what I miss most is just having a lot of space that the 75G provides. I would love to have a Iwagumi or Dutch style aquascape which gives me added bioload filtration but maximizes the space. Ultimately..... I would enjoy having a massive blackwater tank. Only barbs, the blackwater gives them a feeling of being lower light and they are just these little feisty fish below the surface zooming around through all of the wood in the tank. I *wish* that I could have some nice pieces of manzanita to use. One day...
  5. Someone gives you a 75G tank, you can decorate it with pretty much anything and stock it with anything. 1. Do you currently or have you previously had a 75G aquarium? 2. If you were in the situation above, what would be the tank you'd lean towards trying to setup?
  6. To be fair.... I've given up on one of my lids.... because I can see through the hinge to the inside of the tank. πŸ˜‚

  8. I would try to record a video if you can. I don't think anyone can make an accurate review based on the lighting/focus. You would likely see it on fin rays at first. https://www.aquariumcoop.com/blogs/aquarium/how-to-treat-ich-on-freshwater-fish

  11. Agreed. I understand it. The angelfish we had was named Logan in honor of Wolverine. So yeah.... The BN I had didn't have anything but the only real thing I can say, I'd you have wood, hides, the BN are generally nocturnal. Most plecos. Most catfish.
  12. It came up on one of the streams as well. Cory said that they need to figure out a better way to handle bulk orders for Easy green.
  13. The range says you should be fine. But I think it makes sense to go BN instead of RL if that's the case.
  14. Mine hid all day, at night they cleaned the glass. Otos I pretty much always have in my tank. The Rubberlip they'd go on wood and rocks and caves and stuff too. Very similar to the hillstream but they cover big areas a lot easier. Rubberlip prefer cooler tanks, just a think to note. high oxygenation, etc. 72-74 is where I kept mine.
  15. Agreed. Otos / Rubbernose Pleco (bulldog) pleco makes sense for that. Otos will keep the plants clear and rocks and stuff. The bulldog will be very peaceful (weird name) but it's mouth is specifically designed to polish algae off the glass. In my experience ghost shrimp won't do much for algae. The hillstream / borneo loaches they liked to hang out on glass as well as on pleco caves and stuff and just sort of relax in the flow. If you have a lot of flat river rocks and stuff, that's where hillstream loaches do well. Rubbernose / rubberlip / bulldog pleco. There's two varieties I've seen. Spotted and not spotted. You should be able to find one at petco. This shows their slightly different sucker shape. so they are great at glass specifically. Keep in mind the co-op has the coupon / promo code. My biggest thing, was trying to get something that had a better chance of survival than something from petco/petsmart.
  16. yeah, I'm right there with you. I don't have anything. I had to order from aquahuna just to get amanos. I'll probably have to do so again as well so I have enough for both tanks. Otos, same thing. It's a weird issue to have especially given I am in a pretty big / populated state.
  17. Honestly, there's a use case for having all 3. Just depends on the tank
  18. Depends on which type of algae you're talking about On the glass, I've used everything. In my water I have had success with bulldog plecos over bristlenose. Otos I have now. I prefer amano/otos.
  19. I think it's a red bristlenose. They are very orange to me as well.
  20. https://forum.aquariumcoop.com/topic/23956-new-aquarium-cannot-keep-beginner-fish-alive/?do=findComment&comment=215923 Please let me know if you need any questions clarified or want to discuss anything, happy to help!
  21. Yes there is. I personally don't cut them but it's totally possible. Just make sure you have very good scissors. I'm the same way, I totally understand Could've just been a time thing. There is wood in the tank? All I can think is the fish was struggling and it just took time. Smaller plecos can be really torn up by water issues. Thankfully, once they settle, they are pretty hearty.
  22. Perfect. Someone last week with the same sort of issue had the same type of question. Let me go ahead and grab a link to that post so you can see all the methods to setup your filter.
  23. Not really sure what you're trying to show. Sorry, It's just unclear. I see deformation on the ACO filters? You're asking about those? (same / similar material as the intake sponges as well) The focus makes it hard to see what you're trying to show.
  24. Yeah, that's just related from the porosity of the sponge and the flowrate of the pump itself. Very normal in my experience.
  25. What do you mean "permanently compressed"? The pre-filter or sponge in the HoB basket? I've had "fine" PPI intakes where it will just suck in on the intake and basically that's just how it works from day 1. I've tried the co-op pre-filters a few times and never had success. I am fixing the tidal (experiments thread) and I'll end up trying to have success with it once again. The "fine" one I mention was a product from fluval. I'm pretty sure that's the one you have.
