  1. Hi all, might someone tell me what kind of snail these are, saw them a couple days ago (Must come in on plants from LFS.) they act really strange when they meet each other. Thanks.
  2. Well, I found out I had something in my canister that shouldn`t be there, so I took down the canister, the hardest part was getting it off the floor, the shutoff valves worked like a charm, very little water. So, I replaced some sponges and added other stuff plus more sponges and got back together very easy. I will also say that the feed button on the controller is so cool. I won`t bore you with a lot of pics, just a few..
  3. Well, the only thing I do is write date on tape and put on canisters (I only have 3 pus check 3 HOB.) 6 tanks with 5 being used. At one time I wanted to keep track of things, but I can`t keep track of my grocery list. I`m not that organized.
  4. I get to the forums through Aquarium Co-Op web site, never had to log in, sorry I don`t remember the setup.
  5. I don`t have no idea what's wrong but I would like to see pictures on how you made them.
  6. Hi, I put 3 pieces of 3/16 in. foam board on top of a Petco medal stand and you can see the foam taking the shape of the stand and the tank is perfectly level. I don`t think foam would be needed on a wood stand.
  7. Amazon, look up magnetic hooks there's a lot of different styles.
  8. Guppysnail a while back we talked about a scraper using those plastic blades, well I forgot about it till now so I found one and drilled a couple of holes and it works ok not sure if one puts too much pressure on the blade it might break. I think a plastic card works better but not as strong. Has nothing to do with a canister 😜
  9. I don`t think I`m qualified to judge either of them right now, also Gup if not for you I might have made a bad decision on my first canister. I really like the107/207 and ease of setup and maintenance both are made very well and if I live long enough, they might break, your only limited by what you can put in them. I looked at some of the higher end Fluval`s and they are more expensive than a Fzone. I spent 5 minutes to setup the 207 on the other 40B and done. (I see new baby shrimp today) I spent 15 minutes priming the F 10L because I didn`t know what I was doing plus afraid of messing up. I like seeing the clear hose, well until they get gunked up. I used Eheim intake and spray bar 16mm. I should maybe shorten the intake line, I`m not sure. I`m not going to use any bio media (that's under the plenum) just sponge and BCB stuff and see what happens. So far, I like the can, as quiet as a Fluval. Holds a lot of stuff. I will say that if I was new to the hobby and looking for a canister, I think I would pick an Fzone just because it should last a lifetime. (Easy to replace the pump if need be. (I`m thinking about getting a spare.) Also, what am I saying I'm new to the hobby. The blue sponge under the hose (That hose is 7/8 OD and 5/8 ID.) is because I haven't taped down the pump yet. 🙃 A few pics. Also, the pics with shrimp are in the 40B with play sand/gravel mix. I`m not very good with pictures sorry.
  10. Thats a real nice looking piece of wood, how tall is it has it been in water? (Looks wet.)
  11. Well just got the Fzone 10L setup and it sure holds a lot of stuff. The hose and quick disconnects are from ADA. A lot longer to setup than a fluval 107/207 A few pics. So far only running pump at 30%. Might let it run a few a week's then tear down and check things. I should have taken more pics but was in a hurry to setup and put the F207 on another 40B.
  12. Hi all, is there anyone using the fzone canister filter, a while back I had a 15L version, but returned because they wouldn`t send the pump I ordered, after looking at all of the stuff I got for the first one I decided to try again and order the 10L (15L out of stock) and what do you know they sent me the right pump.🤪 I will say that I really like the Fluval 107 and 207 and how easy they are to service. (Thanks, Guppysnail) but I just have to try the fzone. I remember someone say that they look like a coffee pot. A few pics. Any thoughts?
  13. Hi Aquanate, I have 4 tanks setup with plenums and enjoy the hobby more because of them (I have very low maintenance) I like the look of your tanks. I can`t help with PH I`m not smart enough, the help you get here will be top notch.🙂 I`m not sure why you would do this? PM me some day and we can talk about this. Good luck.
  14. Well, I have had some baby shrimp roaming around the tank for the last several weeks and today I noticed a couple of tiny babies, no idea where they came from, my neanderthal brain said, I wonder if the female shrimp is able to release babies at different times, doesn't seem possible to me, ok you can laugh now. some pics, camera does not like to focus very well. I have no idea what kind of shrimp the bluish ones are. (At one time I had a blue dream m/f, but the female died.) I would appreciate any input, thanks.
  15. Good start, co-op sells sponge filters that work for that, I have several also put on hob intakes, works great. If you edit your pictures, then your able to adjust then save for post. (Streetwise is a great tech guy for help with problems.)
  16. Well, I`m a little late on this but I gather green water is ok, I have a 20L that went green 2-3weeks ago with some pleco and snails, water itself has a little nitrite/nitrate not real high - tank is bare bottom.
  17. I could not have said it better, I don`t have a lot of maintenance anymore and that gives me lots of time to enjoy the hobby.
  18. I think this is a good idea, however I`m not much of a fish keeper (I only have guppies - shrimp and a few plecos plus snails) every male guppy I had died within 3 weeks. I have since revamped 4 tanks for the better and have had no losses in 2 months that I know of and almost no maintenance.
  19. I really didn`t understand how these bags worked, neat idea. Years ago, a LFS used oxygen tablets for those who lived out of town, I don`t think they charged for them, but you could buy a package if you wanted. Those tablets gave customers a piece of mind, I never heard any complaints.
  20. After I put a f107 on a 20L the guppies were like all right we can go surfing very active and if they need quiet time they hang out by the intake. (They seem to want food all day long, I guess the flow works up an appetite) I see the same thing with a small hob on a 20T. (I`ve only got guppies so far, so no idea how other fish would react.)
  21. Well, I`m not allowed to comment on posts anymore, but very good information.
  22. I say good for you.... Did I ruffle somebody`s feathers? I would rather see fish than plants, but I guess that`s just me. Have a great day.
  23. I don`t know why I must comment on CO2, but I miss the simpler times of life, now it`s all about the latest and greatest products and who makes the most money. IMO, I think CO2 is a waste of money, it`s one of those products you must keep spending money on and because of that I`ll never do CO2. All I can say is to those who use CO2 you're making these companies very happy. I know that most will disagree with me, but why would I want any type of plant that takes special care just because it pretty. I don`t like to waste money, but yes, I do with all the different fertilizers available. Ok I`m done with my rant.🙃
  24. That`s interesting but looks like light would be dimmed or distorted, I have always had glass lids, they`re easy to maintain, never had one break, the only pain is that pesky plastic piece that needs trimmed to fit accessories. I don`t have to worry about space so I can see where a glass lid could be a problem.
  25. I`ve had one of these for a couple months now seems like the more air the louder the noise I just dialed back the air a little but yes there is still some noise, however since I`m becoming an old man it actually helps me fall asleep😜
