  1. Sound like Columnaris or mycobacterium infection what I would is treat the remaining fish with kanaplex and jungal fungas clear fizz tabs containing nitrofurazone following this treatment schedule using jungal fungas clear instead of furan2 as it has been discontinued once you get the remaining fish back to full health I would put your remaining fish in Qarantine and disinfect the tank using 3% hydrogen peroxide solution or isopropyl alcohol I would bin the substrate or you can bake the substrate.at high temperature in the over to kill any bacterial or viruses I would bin your plants and disinfect all your equipment then I would run your tank for at least 8 weeks without fish just to be on the safe side that will also give you time to recycle the tank
  2. Yes I would just leave it it will eventually get suck up by your filter or remove it with gravel vacc
  3. I agree more than likely stress just leave him with the lights turned down or off till tomorrow he will start to settle down and colour up
  4. What your describing I would do a combined treatment of fritz Expel p as that requires 1 dose leave 24 hr then water change repeat in 1 week for a total of 3 weeks and I would also do a course of kanaplex in food feeding a small amount twice a day for 1 week that will cover all base as it could be internal parasites or an internal bacterial infections paracleanse and general cure have the same active ingredient praziquantel and metronidazole they are better for treating flukes and tape worms Expel p active ingredient is levamisole is a more powerful
  5. With the symptoms your describing could be a tumor viral or bacterial infection what I would do is treat with maracyn2 in food the active ingredient minocycline is effective at shrinking some types of lumps i would add to his food use 1 quarter of a packet of maracyn2 1 table spoon of pellets 1 scoop of seachems focus 1 cap of garlic guard mix well and feed a small amount twice a day for 1 week store any leftover medicated food in the fridge
  6. I second that definitely a bladder snail probably hitch hiked in on one of your plants
  7. You can use Indian almond leaves in most tank I add them to all my tanks as they have antibacterial and antifungal properties and I like the look of leaf litter and my Bristlenose enjoy them if your using them to treat a sick fish you have to add a lot of almond leaves 1leaf per gallon to get the benefial effects
  8. The red marks look like a bacterial infection I would treat with kanaplex in food
  9. It says invertebrates maybe sensitive to api super ick cure so they could have a reaction to the medication I was just looking up ich medication and ick x is the only one that fully invertebrate safe that I could find you could try using salt with the ick x 1 table spoon for 5 gallons shouldn't harm your plants
  10. Just did water changes on 60g 50g 15g g tanks 200 hundred bristlenose pleco fry produce a lot of waste I need to thin the vall out when I get more time
  11. Yes that what I use to disinfect nets and equipment works well if I had an out break of something nasty like mycobacterium I would use a higher concentration of hydrogen peroxide 3% fine to deal with most bacterial and pathogens you will likely in counter
  12. If I remember rightly Javan ferns often suffer from potassium deficiency
  13. Ich is getting more resistant if ick x isn't working sometimes switching to ich medication with a different active ingredient like API super ick cure will have the desired effect
  14. You can do the 3% hydrogen peroxide solution 1part hydrogen peroxide to 10 parts water leave for 48-72hr with the filter running empty and fill the tank with dechlorinated water and leave it running as hydrogen peroxide quickly breaks down into water and oxygen over a couple of days then you should be ok to start cycling your tank
  15. Theirs a couple of things this could be Tumor viral or bacterial infections tumor are really common I'm Betta a little more information would be helpful water parameters ammonia nitirtes temp etc how long has he had the lump is he eating ok did you notice any improvement with the lump with any of the medication you used
  16. No it doesn't get rid of ammonia but it give your benefial bacterial enough time to start turning the ammonia into nitrites and then nitrates that are less toxic to your fish and you can double dose prime every 24 hr that couple with purigen should get the ammonia down considerably doesn't totally solve the problem
  17. What I would do is put your water in a bin or bucket with a small filter and some seachems purigen and a heater to get the correct temperature for a couple of days before your water change purigen will help remove some of the ammonia and double dose prime with every water will help to detoxify any remaining ammonia for 48hr
  18. If it's on one side it could be an internal growth or tumor they are common in Bettas I would do a course of maracyn2 active ingredient minocycline is effective at shrinking some types of lumps in food I use a quarter of a packet of maracyn2 1 table spoon of pellets one scoop of seachems focus 1 cap of garlic guard a few drops of water mix well feed a couple of pellets twice a day for 1week store any leftover medicated food in the fridge
  19. You can do daily water changes if you want as long as you add back in the amount of salt you take out
  20. Only put back in the amount of salt that you take out so if you do a 3 gallon water change put 1 table spoon of salt back in
  21. Is the bulge just on one side and what is the temperature of your tank
  22. I would take a step back I hold off adding any more medication I don't think it's constipation it been going on to long egg bound I think we can rule this out with the fact it's been going on for a Couple of months if it were internal bacterial infections I would have expected to see some improvement with the meds you have used it could be an internal growth as @xXInkedPhoenixXsuggest or its possibility he is just fat always a possibility some fish are just pigs when it comes to food if he's eating ok and not showing any odd behaviour I would just leave him be for now sometimes over treating is worst then doing nothing
  23. When you have unilateral Popeye and cloudy eye it usually caused by an injury or poor water quality or both you can keep treating with aquarium salt make sure there's no ammonia or nitrites present as this will slow down the healing process if you notice no improvement in 5-7 days of treating with salt then I would treat with the kanaplex in food you can also do Epsom salt baths 1 table spoon for 1 gallon for no more than 15 minutes 2-3 times a day Epsom can help reduce the swelling
