I look in my veterinary book and that recommend using naladixic acid I have looked to see if they are other effective treatment kanaplex can be used it says to treat for an extended period up to 3 months to treat whirling disease and can be combined with nitrofurazone or metronidazole keep them Qarantined if they die they will release million of spores its a difficult disease to treat with a low success rate 50/50 at best I don't how well Otto's will respond to long term exposure to a powerful antibiotic medication like kanaplex I have only use two courses of treatment back to back
