Thanks for answering! Would both of these be considered carbon media?

Hey all, I'm wondering if someone can help me with my question. I purchased the trio of meds from aquarium co-op and watched the video on YouTube for the instructions. I know the recommendation is to remove carbon from the filter, so does that include the small carbon pad as well as the larger cartridge that slides in? That would be all media in my hang on back filter. I just want to clarify this and make sure because otherwise it will just be running without any media for a week? Thank you guys so much.
