  1. But the biofilm can feed the tank. I know some don't like the tannins. I have black water fish on my list so they will love the tannins
  2. I saw a co-op affiliate in Charlotte which is probably an hour away probably more, but I have no private owned shops nearby anyway. I am going to one small shop I used to go to as a kid. But was going to swing by this place C'MACS site looks more like a place for businesses to hire out
  3. I would replace the cpvc my house was plumbed with it and it started shattering had to re do my whole house. I would hate for it to fail when you aren't present.
  4. My tank is a 4 footer still setting it up, budget friendly diy heavy. Diy heavy 4 footer being set up
  5. I keep reading and seeing videos talking about how fragile regular neon's have become over the years. That is part of why my brother doesn't have them, he bought 5 or 6 and all died in the course of a week. I researched it when he said something and he didn't get more after that.
  6. The manufacturer says to seal with foil tape, think silicone will look better
  7. I bought a background in black from temu for like 4 dollars it's plastic so should last forever and blocks all light
  8. True in most instances we really need to make things consistent other than the nitrogen cycle and that's really to keep the ammonia in check
  9. What is your phones native zoom. Digital zoom will kill your image when it gets zoomed in and then enlarged. The trick is set resolution to the highest setting, then manually without using zoom get your image taken then hopefully you can enlarge it enough. Office max used to be able to print large format sizes. I enlarged snorkeling photos from film prints to 18×24
  10. How can the strips be so off? Or is this a case of things not being used right?
  11. I realize that I don't have heavy detail on some variety but general ideas
  12. New plants next on the agenda after I get some more water need to call flps and see what they have in stock before I drive the hour, otherwise I will see about ordering from coop or kg tropical
  13. I get a bit more water in then I will start getting some plants.
  14. The first thing why worry if the fish seem fine? I think it coop that said not to chase pH numbers if the other parameters were ok and the fish are happy. Unless you're after inducing spawn or something.
  15. My friends wives prefer the hobbies we have over the alternative ones like bar's
  16. Today made 2 hoods for my tank, installed the light, plumbed the airline and turned on the air pump, and added my nermy sticker
  17. hygger light and polycarbonate hoods. Handle is going to be a surprise.johnnyxxlContributor johnnyxxl Posted just now Today made 2 hoods for my tank, installed the light, plumbed the airline and turned on the air pump, and added my nermy sticke
  18. 2 custom made hoods started using green house polycarbonate
  19. Maybe peroxide dip the plants and salt the substrate? I mean really salt the substrate like pouring salt on slugs. Not sure if that would work and not kill the substrate.
  20. Personally I would just put sponges on the intake large debris and fry issue fixed. Fill the basket up with sponge and done all necessary mods made. I was researching these before I decided to go sponge filter only.
  21. Go visit and discuss if they even buy local bred fish some shops do and others don't. You will likely only get store credit. Worth it that's up to you. Personally I will try breeding the Barb's when I get my tank stable purely for the education of figuring it out. Worth it too me yes financially viable probably not.
  22. You would be better having the tank setup and cycled for the fish you want to buy. I would wait for that so that you don't stress your new pet more than they will already be.
  23. He has started doing podcasts with Kg tropical I may start getting plants next week as my light should be here tomorrow and I plan on getting the polycarbonate tomorrow also
  24. Lubricant extends the life of every o-ring. It also helps prevent rattling from a loose fit. That's why high end car detail shops will lubricate the seals on your car when they clean them. Keeps them moist and sealing good no rattle from the door and no air noises. Same for our filter.
