  1. I did a little research and only found info on the one species. I'll assume that as they mature the patterns change. @bryanisag
  2. Yes we'll worth watching. Needed to watch this a year ago. Thanks for sharing @Pepere
  3. Not experienced with those species but proper foods and water changes to remove growth inhibiting hormones, Nitrate for cichlid fry growth. @Mattyd123
  4. It's a habit for me to not fill my aquariums all the way up. Keep Polypterus so a gap of waterline is needed. The Nerite is in aquarium with pipefish and ghost shrimp.
  5. It's amazing how fast they move you blink and gone.😆
  6. @saminator0107 What product are you using to test Nitrate. It's possible that one the Ottos you purchased may have been ill. I suggest quarantine new fish before adding to the main aquarium.
  7. Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences with the Nerite snail. 😊
  8. Has anyone had a Nerite escape from the aquarium 😆 I found my nerite snail just in time before it was completely out of the aquarium. Also did some modifications around the AC 50 where I found it. The aquarium is mature has biofilm and some algae.
  9. @Nate Duncan How do you remove debris? I just use a gravel vac.
  10. Got home from work and did a little research. Ghost shrimp can produce eggs without a mate. Ok confused again Ghost shrimp need both male and female to produce eggs.
  11. I'm new to keeping ghost shrimp. I started out with 5 and only had 2 for 2 about a month now. The thing is only one was carrying eggs well after the others died but noticed today the other carrying eggs also.
  12. Many years ago driftwood was sold with slate attached with screws. At that time most used gravel for substrate.
  13. 1.longfin fish created by man. 2. Banjo Catfish 3. Discus 4. Asian Arowana 5. Glo fish
  14. @GoofyGarra Possibly a disorder of the nerves.
  15. No need to apologize good that you and your girlfriend didn't get hurt.
  16. https://photos.app.goo.gl/hvvXYebXbhccMnd96 I over built it. Extremely strong first stand build.
  17. @quikv6 I definitely agree about the weight of the aquarium alone. I personally built a stand for my 180 gallon after I noticed old stand with deterioration.
  18. Years ago our old public aquarium was much larger but your right better than not having one.
  19. @Tony s thanks for the shout out for the Cleveland Zoo. Tbh I'm disappointed about the size of our public aquarium.
  20. Wow those are great exhibits. I'm a big fan of Octopus. Thanks for sharing.
  21. Softwood like pine release resins that can potentially be harmful to fish. Yes if aged it's probably good but I personally wouldn't use it. I have branches and small hollowed out hardwood in a couple of my aquariums. They have been in the aquarium for a few years now.
  22. If you know that the area is fertilizer or contaminate free wood ok to use. Also the wood could possibly be from a softwood tree and will break down faster than hardwood such as Oak. Give it a good rinse and if it comes apart easily don't use.
  23. No about your fish just for anyone not knowing about that contagious disease.
