ChemBob
How does everyone store their fish food? Can I keep it in my stand sealed in the containers? Or does everyone keep most of it frozen? If so, how much of a supply do you pull out at a time?

brighamthatcher
love the mermaid barbie lol. I keep my fish food in a small cooler with icepacks. it keeps the fish food at about 35 degrees. I just have to replace the icepacks every other day and refreeze the warmer ones. maybe its worth it, maybe its not. but I like to do it.
GardenStateGoldfish
I suggest keeping it frozen or refrigerated, I keep small containers out of the freezer and I refill them when they run low. Some commercial brands can lose up to 50% nutrition in the first week due to oxidation and moisture. Heat doesnt help (most fish rooms are hot and humid, mine is cold)

Guess its half fish, so still fits the forum, right?
FrozenFins
I don't keep my foods in the fridge or freezer. I usually keep the specific food for that tank in the stand. I have never referigrated food (well I do referigate frozen foods) and I have never had a problem with not doing it.
Andy's Fish Den
I have small containers that I will mix foods in. I'll mix several foods together so that the entire tank gets a variety. I keep a couple out to feed from then rest of food goes in freezer.
Maggie
I keep the main package of the "special" foods in the freezer, and keep smaller containers in fridge. The pellets and flake are just kept in fridge.
Fonske
My dry foods go into small containers that sit next to the tanks. I don't refrigerate/freeze dry foods because the fridge is occupied by frozen foods and BBS eggs (a fact my spouse often reminds me about :).
TheDukeAnumber1
Sealed container in baggie in fridge. Smaller portions I use up within a few weeks I keep in small bottles by the tank.
Calvin
I had no idea you could store dried food in the fridge. I always end up with tubs half full because they have expired and I don't manage to finish them so they usually end up in the bin! Game changer! 👌🏻😄

FishyJames
I have my larger containers in the refrigerator and refill smaller containers that are kept at the tank.
H.K.Luterman
My fish food (and a package of tortoise pellets) get a shelf in the fridge. I also have some stuff in the freezer.

I've noticed some fish are picky and they dont all like the same thing. I got tired of opening half a dozen containers for each tank just to suite everyone. I'll be honest I cant recall what all is in here but I know my fish chow down on it! I mixed 8-9 different foods. About half of them float and the others sink at varying speeds. This is my normal mix. I'll offset with frozen food periodically too.
