ORD but The Look on your face made me chuckle.  It’s not like that’s much snow for your area.  Here in Texas, that much snow would completely paralyze the whole state for a week.  It’s practically already all cleared off behind you!  😆 😂 😉

Two plows with sand and/or salt drove by within 30 seconds while taking those last three photos. This is a normal March in Vermont, and I love it!

We even have special sidewalk plows.

I don’t think my driveway has been plowed yet.

The best thing about working in a school system is snow days! I think we have had four so far this school year. It is all based on bussing on the mountain roads. We are in-between Stowe and Sugarbush.

Ice and freezing rain are actually more of a concern. Snow below freezing is more simple to deal with.

I sometimes miss snow (grew up in Nebraska), then it gets here and people in Texas are sooooooooo incredibly stupid while driving in it.  🤦🏻‍♀️ 🤦🏻‍♀️ 🤦🏻‍♀️ Then, nope, I no longer miss snow.  🤷🏻‍♀️

I only want to miss a pretty snowfall or a pristine, untouched swath of snow blanketing the ground and coating the trees.  I miss the light hiss that you can sometimes hear that’s millions of tiny flakes falling fast and stacking up.  I miss huge, floaty flakes drifting down ever so lightly.  I miss the stillness that comes after a heavy snowfall.  I miss that.

I don’t miss the reality of snow in Texas.  Sometimes we get enough that it’s pretty in the back yard for a while.  That will have to do until we happen to catch a snow when visiting back home or maybe after we retire to a travel trailer and drive all over the US.

This is gorgeous, and makes me miss the East.

Then I get there, love seeing everyone for about a week, and am ready to return to living in states with more cattle than people.

I went to college in northern Indiana and we had an army of those sidewalk plows. They looked like something out of Busytown with those gigantic brushes on the front.

Unless you live in a district where they start taking away your breaks if you have more than two. ☹️ Stupid New York. They take some things WAY too seriously.

I do miss that strange silence of the snow.

Ahhhh this thread is making me miss snow a LOT 😭 There’s something so fun about trudging through a foot or more of untouched snow. Leaping through two feet is a blast! 😄

I had a busy day yesterday. I helped my dad setup his new Mac mini and Apple Studio Display. I’ll take his old iMac 27 for a home office.

I also took the neglected basement tubs outside to see what is left. I don’t know what I will do with them. I want to take at least one to my apartment for a duckweed last chance saloon, and maybe one for green water. I don’t want to have to winterize, so no grand plans.

Then it was a big Subaru day. My dad traded in his 2009 Tribeca 3.6R and my mom’s 2017 Outback 3.6R for a 2019 Ascent Touring. I traded in my 2011 Legacy 3.6R for a 2016 Legacy 3.6R. This is my fifth Subaru. I can’t wait to pick it up tomorrow!

Our 2005 legacy wagon is getting pretty worn out. I’d love to trade it in on a newer outback but Seattle area Subies are going for 25-30% above normal here in the Seattle area. Legacy sedans are slightly more affordable but I need a wagon.

confession: the legacy isn’t all that bad but I “bumped” our ‘21 Bolt while backing out one night. The Bolt is fine but the legacy has a big embarrassing dent in the front fender. My daughter also “bumper” into a trailer tongue, leaving a hole in the lift gate. This poor car needs to be put out of it’s misery!😥
